He actually lost memories, the ones he considered painful and/or unpleasant but on a longer term. 
Then some writer said fuck it and since a couple of years now he remembers everything... or not, since jeph loeb's shitty writing is fucking all that up, again.

He regenerates when damaged, doesn't mean his body is trying to revert back constantly to the prime state. If that were the case, he would never age beyond a clump of cells in teh uterus.

I thought it was just minor tissue damage and such albeit very fast healing, then again I don't know X-Men all that well, and I guess he was ripped apart one time, shouldn't there be two of him after that with each part regenerating separately?

Are we speaking about the films?
It was established in TDK that the armor is weak and cannot withstand neither a knife or gunshot, because he wanted to be mobile. The Joker stabs him in the party with his shoe knife and later Dent shoots him with his gun. So punches from Bane should hurt. He breaks the same material in the mask in 3 punches lol.
