Hi guys.

I have bought MSI 7950 and I'm trying to connect it to my 2 monitors Dell U4212M using DVI and HDMI.

I tried to use HDMI-to-DVI adapter to connect, but whenever I connect adapter to the card, my DVI output looses signal. And I have no signal on HDMI-DVI adapter output either.

DVI alone works ok. HDMI alone works ok as well.

Anyone knows if it's even possible to connect one monitor via DVI and one via HDMI through DVI adapter?

I do have 2 mini DisplayPort connectors on the card, but I have no DP cable yet. I'm pretty sure I can use DP, but I'd like to know if it's possible to use HDMI?

If you look in CCC or windows itself, you don't see 2 monitors like this?

Seems like 1 is just disabled, nothing more, because i'm doing the same as you

No, I don't see because as soon as I plug in HDMI-to-DVI adapter into the card, DVI output turns off. And I get no signal from the adapter as well, so I can't see my desktop.

Weird, it should work with both HDMI and DVI for just 2 monitors, regardless of whether you use an adapter or not. Seems that something is wrong... Even if you connected too many screens, it would just disable some, not all outputs.

Maybe try the menu on the monitor or such, HDMI is nothing more than DVI with audio leads in it.. so there is no reason it should be an issue with a converter.

I tried all menues on the monitor, no help. I know HDMI and DVI are electrically compatible and it should just work by plugging in the adapter.

After it didn't work I thought maybe I'm missing some settings in driver or control panel or something on monitor.

But now I think the only thing that might be broken is that HDMI-to-DVI adapter. I'll try with HDMI-to-DVI cable tomorrow.

Well, thanks guys for confiming this should just work without any fiddling with settings.
