I seriously wish someone would have told me in school to become a political someone..
They make moneyz, here, if you get to stay in office for 8 years, you get retirement for the rest of your life..

LOL, they made it sound like luring a 6 year old into a van and raping, when this is not luring in that way at all. She knew fully well what she was doing and went with it. I agree it's still a felony and deserves punishment, but if this was a rape case, then it would be completely different.

It's the problem because is a 14 year old girl capable of making these kind decisions?
In my opinion no. 14 years old is a kid. Not developed physically and most importantly mentally. These kinds of experience can potentially have very damaging effects on a young mind...
So imo, there is no: she knew what she was doing. She's 14! End of story. The guy who fucks 14 yr olds is a pedophile and should be in jail for taking advantage of young kids...

1) No usual woman would let a stranger tie her up without a struggle, so likely there was force, brutal beating and intimidation involved. I guess you can't call it stealing when you rob someone forcefully. I don't see why you'd make this case any smaller than it is.
2) The guy deserved more.

There are 2 different crimes indeed, the first one had what was coming to him.
Now the senator... it wasnt rape, they call it "subtraction of a minor" here. Our laws explicitly criminalize sex with a minor in all cases under all circumstances.
It also invalidates any decision taken by the minor if it is contrary to its parents decision. (The law does)
Logically speaking any 14yo would go and have sex with someone who lures it with money, cars, food, trips etc after some time. Come on.... what mind does she have to trully understand why that man is doing that? Hes a pedophile, he isnt thinking about her future or that he met a wonderful person, he wants sex with a kid.
Im just surprised of how unimportant and low the jail time is for this, i wonder how much time would he have gotten if he only had child porn.... 40 fucking years i bet LOL.

You are fully capable of making your own decissions at 14.
And i would never brand someone fucking a 14 year old as a straight up pedophile. i think there should be a differen word for it, because i see fucking 12- pedophilic. Pre puberty that is.

Its true that noone knows why or how to establish the age that a human being is free and fully prepared to do stuff.
But i like psycology and ive read around, in the end i personally dont approve of underage sex with adults. I could understand a 17 with an 18 and close.
But when someone pops up saying 14+34, 13+19, 15+25, theres a social difference together with a psycological fact that screams of traps, sexual fantasies, pedophilia, cons, explotation, that i cant ignore.
Thanks to whoever did it, my country has a age limit of 18 and i like the age 18 for the separation between adulthood because by 18 almost everyone is fully knowledgeable of almost everything a human should know for his life decisions.

Yes you are capable of making decisions at 14, hell, you are capable of making decisions when you are 5, but that doesn't mean that the decision a 14 year old makes is a good one.
What does a 14 year old know about the consequences that kind of experience can bare on her/him?!
There is something called development of the mind and body, and if we know anything as a human kind is that young ppl make bad decisions. You need to mature enough to see what's good or bad for you.

Thought I should throw this out there: an abuse is an abuse, no matter the age of the victim.
Plenty of 18 (+) yr olds out there just as incapable and oblivious "about the consequences that kind of experience can bare on her/him" as those 14 yr olds. Is it ok for an 18 + yr old girl to be/let her self be abused, because she's 18 and supposedly aware of the consequences?
In this context, when talking about awareness of the consequences regarding sexual actions it all comes down to education, and that falls on the parents/schools. An individual properly educated about that shouldn't have more problems distinguishing between good or bad, than a 20 yr old virgin.
No one is mature enough to see what's good or bad for them before their first time or after the 2/3/4# time.
Take into account the fact that the age at witch you make good decisions varies so much that for some people that's the age of 30 right now, then the whole "proper age for making decision" is less and less relevant.
My point is that maturity doesn't come with age, you don't lvl up one day and are ready for sex, like everything else in life, you learn (better) through (life) experiences.
However, the example here, specified in this thread, is in a fucked up zone, and clearly an abuse, even if the girl wasn't 14/underaged.
