I have problems with AMD Cool and Quiet setup on my motherboard Asus A8N-SLI delux. I cant get the cool and quiet technology working. I installed the drivers for it. Enabled the Cool and Quiet thing in bios but then the motherboard manual say’s: “In the power menu select the item ACPI 2.0 Support and set it to Yes”. But I can’t find that setting in the bios. Can any one please help because I have search all the bios for this setting and cant find it And can any one explain few things: What is PCI clock Synchronization mode? It has options to set it to Auto, To CPU and 33.33 MHz. What setting could I use? (I reamember that AGP had a seting AGP/PCI ratio and It had to be set to something like 33/66) And if I set the Max Memclock (MHz) to DDR400 (I have ddr 400 memory) does that mean when I overclock the CPU the memory doesn’t go higher than that. I remember when I overclocked a P4 and had IC7 motherboard there was setting that helped the memory clock to stay down (. It dint go over 200MHz (If it did then the system freezed) I use windows XP Pro with SP2

have you set Power Schemes in Power Options to "Minimal Power Management"? If not do it and reboot. avatar by R. K. Sloane

Yes I did that but still nothing.

I think I have something not enabled in bios. But I dont know what.

And manual says: Select the item ACPI 2.0 Support and set it to yes. But dont even have that option in the bios Sad

ACPI support is probably enabled by default. How do you measure the clock frequency? avatar by R. K. Sloane

Open the device-manager and check if windows xp has been installed with acpi enabled. You can see that under System or Computer, it should say something like acpi-uniprocessor pc. Btw you have to do a full reinstall if acpi wasn't enabled before the intstall, same goes for apic.

I measure the clock freqency with the software from asus. The cool and quiet software and it shows me the volts and cpu clock.

and yes I have the ACPI APIC support setting in bios and its enabled.
I try the windows xp thing and c what hapenes then.

OK I can c the ACPI Uniprotcessor PC thing in the device manager.
I just reintalled my windows (accidently intalled 64 bit chipsed drivers and killed the windows

)
