VGX, the next generation of Video Game Awards, is an all-day gaming experience, and a true binging dream for gamers.
While its roots lie in the Video Game Awards, VGX will abandon the traditional Hollywood style award show to feature more world premiere game trailers than ever before, plus extended deep dives into the next generation of games, new looks at gaming culture, one-on-one interviews with the industry’s most visionary creatives and expert panels digging into what’s coming to consoles in 2014 and beyond. The new format features more games, less fame, in an intimate studio setting.
VGX Nominees are determined by the VGX Advisory Council, which is made up of a group of some of the most well-respected video game journalists from media outlets such as Entertainment Weekly, Game Informer, Joystiq, Kotaku, Polygon, IGN, GameTrailers, Gamespot, Wired.com, USA Today and Associated Press.

fuck the awards themselves, who cares (guess someone actually care, i bet there will be tons of idiots arguing about what game should get the award) - waiting for some annoucements/trailers/gameplay videos. witcher 3 is confirmed to be shown there, hope for some other suprises.
We definitely need an alternative version of this show, with all the failures of the year instead. I bet two hours of non-stop streaming wouldn't be enough to cover up all the train wrecks that we've had the displeasure to witness during these 12 months of painful PC gaming. At least we got 3-4 pleasant surprises, too (two of them made in Ubi *inglip* -> another proof that the world is coming to an end).
It's a decent list. I've played The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, GTA 5 and Tomb Raider. Two of those are my GOTY candidates and GTA 5 was pretty good as well. Tomb Raider is the only fishy candidate, although I enjoyed it I think there are better choices.
While many people are probably loling at Super Mario 3D World being a GOTY candidate, you definitely didn't play the game then (which I can understand, buying a Wii U is kind of an achievement ), because Nintendo surely outdid themselves.

Pretty much this. I would LOVE to play wind waker HD and the super mario, luigi u games, but I just can't bring myself to purchase a wii u. Maybe a year from now when the price goes sub $200 I wouldn't feel so badly about it.

New in-engine look at Tom Clancy's The Division from @ubisoft is coming to VGX this Saturday night at http://vgxlive.com
Yeah, GOTY list is pretty good. I only wish they had included Arkham Origins, but oh well, DerpGN and company made sure that wouldn't happen.
its not bad, but it had some game-breaking bugs for weeks after release, clearly its not full blown batman game, just a quickly made with reused assets, tho still decent one. you`re talking about derpgn (wtf i dont even) seriously?
