|

Im looking for ideas on fun pirated games that LAN is working on. Especially co-op play but doesnt have to be. Any suggestions that you guys have played successfully? Planning to play across two comps on same router so online not necessary unless it is for a specific game.

I'm searching for the same thing. I've bought my little bro a new PC, so we're connected through a router, and we'd like to do some co-op lan games.
Resident Evil 5 is one of games we'd like to try.
Also, i think these would work too:
Dead Island
Borderlands
Left 4 Dead 2
And, one a bit older, but deffinitely a must try:
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
^ One of the best games i've ever played. Multplayer missions are soo tense and fun.

...and there are always games like CoH/AoE/C&C/RA/SC1 and SC2...dunno if all of them work in LAN though.

Not Diablo 3, not StarCraft II
More seriously, I'd suggest Quake 3 Arena, Counter Strike 1.6, Worms Armageddon, Half Life 1, Warcraft III and StarCraft.

Yes it did, even the much older Raven Shield had LAN.
Some games that I can think of that haven't been mentioned yet:
Titan Quest Immortal Throne (Diablo 2 also works, but TQ is better)
Dungeon Defenders
Sanctum
Portal 2
Killing Floor
Alien Swarm (free on Steam)
Magicka
Terraria
Civilization 4/5
Sins of a Solar Empire
Arma 2 Free (not an easy game, you can download coop missions here, just make sure you get the ones where it says Requirements: No Addons.)
I can't remember if these have LAN, but online works on pirated version:
Flatout 2
Mount & Blade Warband

Yeah well, if im not all mistake - Ravenshield has only MP/Terrorist hunt and SP. No actual coop apart from terrorist hunt. Atleast thats how I remember it - while Vegas 1 and 2 had real coop throughout the whole campaign.

Thats a good one - unfortunatly there is only one of all the games in that series that has coop for the campaign

Ah yeah, good point. I was thinking purely about the LAN aspect.

sadly i never got dead island to work.. that steam "emulator" is not something i dare play with, and "good old lan" is not working..

I'm currently playing Dungeon Siege III with a couple of friends. With a few console tweaks (camera ones) it's a mightily fun co-op game.

sword of the stars works aswell on lan (avoid Sots2 atm tho) needs to be the disk version tho not 100% about the steam version
BF2 (i recommend playing with allied intent extended mod tho (god had so many hours sunk into that one together with friends and unlocked weps on the server ^^)
alot of recent rts games should work over lan too ^^
tbh most good ones allready got said here ^^

Not co-op, but AVP2 is an absolute blast, and the cracked version is perfectly playable on a LAN.

i used to play my LAN games on Tunngle, then I moved to Evolve because they support game overlay for chat, screenshots and video recording. They have a list of LAN games that you can play there as well
