i've heard a few times about some sort of thing that you can buy and put on your desk that keeps your cord for your mouse tensioned properly so there's no slack but no real tightness in the cord either, people say it's supposed to work wonders with reducing drag on mouse movements caused by the cord.

what are these? where do you get them? are they worth it? what are the pros and cons?

also, i'll say this in advance, but if it's too similar of a topic, could someone merge to the mouse pad thread if needed, thanks.

"reducing drag on mouse movements caused by the cord."

Make sure you keep your fingernails trimmed too, otherwise the added weight might put you off your game.

there any downside though? i mean, i can just see this thing taking up all the slack and creating drag that way.

also, newty, you must be still trolling yourself with a wireless mouse? or a painfully short mouse cord, seriously it's very noticeable with a mouse with a long cord.

I have a Razer Imperator as my main mouse, on my desktop, and it has a 7 foot long cable. Laughing

dunno then, well except razer only makes poserware, maybe it's because of the stuff the RAT 7s cord is made out of is supposed to be more like a string or something than a regular plastic cable and it might twist more easily.

i can definitely tell when drag from the cord affects me in online shooters though, it's hard to miss honestly.

My fUnc 1030 mouse mat has a clip that makes a loop of the cable (on my G9x the cable is covered by some kind of fabric) and removes any tension from hanging cables. Great invention. Wink

I wasn't really convinced about those things myself back then. I thought this would make it even worse. But, I was totally wrong. Tested it at a friend's PC and went to buy one the next day. It feels like your mouse is wireless. The springs aren't stiff or something. They'll bent as soon as the weight of your hand lies down on your mouse.

The only thing that could make a problem is the cable of your mouse itself. If it's too stiff and not flexible enough, you'll propably won't get much out of it.

There's an epic long cord on my 518 and I used to feel the drag all the time, drove me insane until I just stuck a book on top of the cable at one end. Now I've got a proper desk with the cord threaded through holes in the back, works wonders.

... and nothing on this god forsaken rock would ever convince me wireless mice are worthwhile.
