So, as I'm waiting to buy a GTX680 I saw the Twin Frozr version was stocked on a shop. I called them and they said they had a couple of them on stock. The price is 529,- Euro, order today and I would have it tomorrow....but damn guys, what should I do? If I wait, I probably have to wait a month or more and I want a GTX680 with a custom cooler (MSI Twin Frozr or ASUS DC2)

I have a MSI Twin Frozr GTX580, Cool quiet and performs really well. Zero issues with it.

Yeah, the money is also what bothers me, I if wait for a month of more the Twin Frozr probably will be much cheaper because more shops have it on stock.

Prices won't drop for while I reckon. Reference 680's are still hard to get, because they can't produce enough of them (they're coming in in small waves atm, couple hundred at a time 3-4 weeks apart); the Twin Frozr and other non-reference card most likely use cherry picked chips, so stock on them will be even crappier Smile

After 1 year+ one fan on my msi gtx 460 hawk 1gb stopped Sad Card was still under 36 months warranty but as I was facing at least 1 month+ service time, I decided to gentle disassembly fans and mounting rail leaving stock radiator only. And I managed to tie two 120mm fans @ 1000 rpm with wires to the radiator ad-hoc style Very Happy Still so damn proud of myself for that Laughing

As a result,
IDLE:
- with stock cooling card was idling @ 30C most of the time
- with my solution temps dropped 4C and became practically inaudible

Kombustor
- with stock cooling 56C and VERY loud
- with my solution 66C, but inaudible.

Can't blame you. You've got to treat yourself now and again Razz

571 euros here, so not bad price. But yes i agree new cards are always too expensive, i have to stay one step behind the latest tech.

The tempatures of this card are really amazing. 22 degrees idle and 50 degrees load...my GTX275 was 55 degree idle lol.
