Is there still many people who play it online? - i see it is only $7 on steam and am thinking about it, but only if there are still fairly populated servers.

I even pre-ordered it, considering the time I was spending on ut2k4.
Today I still have ut2k4 installed... but not ut3. It's not a bad game, but the community hasn't followed.

well i bet people still have keys lying around from when you could grab one from steam, you know, when you could acquire one because playing the free weekend would give you a real key.

I haven't checked in a few months but yes, there were people playing every night on the US WAR server. The UK WAR server was even more populated as well as the Russian. I'd say $7 is the most you'd want to spend on it, but worth it if you can play with others. Check out YouTube gameplay vids if you're not sure. Epic abandoned the game early on. It's their own fault the game died. The 2.0 patch added content but didn't improve the base game at all.

I have it, I play it sometimes. There are 1-2 servers at best, and when the good players come online, you're gonna cry, unless you seriously kick ass. It's not like TF2 for example, where you have many servers to chose from, many communities to chose from.

I play ut2k4 more these days. Why you ask? Simple. PC shooter fans play games like ut2k4. Sellouts and wannabes play CoD or BF.

The multiplayer was amazing when it was released, i still crave that FAKE DEATH function of the MP Laughing

But unfortunately, the game is dead.

The online sadly is quite dead, I reinstalled it some time ago and the only (few) servers available were either from USA or Russia, which means ~200 ping for me. So nope Razz

Yes, because they are exactly the same genre.
