Got myself a home beamer at a online shop's hour sale yesterday Smile
I got it for 1995 NOK! I mean, thats like 2-3 parking tickets in Norway Laughing

http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=638415

So I couldn't really care less about it not having HDMI. Amazing image quality for the price. I was kinda skeptical because I couldn't find any really trustworthy reviews.
3D ready, DLP, 2700 Ansi, 4000:1, XGA. Contrast seems decent. I could google Ansi and find out what it is (prolly something to do with light Laughing ) but id rather get drunk and watch a movie Very Happy Very Happy

Congratulations. But, people still used projectors in this day and age? Serious question, but what's the advantage of one over a tv/monitor? Viewing porn on any surface (that's all I could come up with) Very Happy

Install a pull-down screen and you've got a 200"+ TV... for £200. As opposed to a 48" TV for £600 Very Happy

Not bad, atleast not for that price, a decent "entry level" projector Smile

I myself run a full-HD Epson LCD projector on a 106" pull-down screen.

And the image quality is fantastic, both for movies and games. If you have the space I definitely recommend one.

No, I don't have that one Smile TW1000.

Here's a shitty pic I took when I was installing GT5, back when it came out. But taken with lights on etc. so it's not meant to reflect the image quality in any way, just shows somewhat the view from the rig/seat.

Sure, but it would never represent the image quality, you know that though

Here's a video I filmed back before Forza 4 came out (so I couldn't upload video to the official servers)

How do you measure it ?

I have a 3D projector running on a white (projector paint) wall that is about 8 foot across, I know TV's do a diagonal (or did when I worked in the trade)

Anyway, congrats, I have had a projector for a while now and I would never be without it, watching movies on a big screen is so much fun, especially with friends around. Thats before you even consider the gaming possibility's Very Happy Very Happy

Some stores that sell projectors here will let you take one to home so you can test it properly, or at least demo it in the store. They're the sort of thing I'd never buy blindly, no matter how many glowing reviews you could find online.

Bod plaatsen is "make a bid" right? Smile
Still awesome if you are able to get it around that price.
I mean, I found out a lamp is more expensive than the BenQ TX501 itself (well, when it was on sale Smile )

All I have to do now is find a decent location for it.

Yeah thats why i'm looking to these devices with their 8000 hours of display. That seems more then enough for my needs Smile
And by the time these lamps are done i want a better device anyway.

Btw deelix, do you have a screen already?

You know the saying "You get what you pay for"? Yeah, there's a reason why a brand name projectors for $1000 and up cost that much - those eBay ones are sure to be shitty as hell...

Congrats on the new projector. It is a good entry level projector as sin said.

I had a 1024x768 projector as my second upgrade in my old HT room. Loved it as i had a 640x480 before (Blah)

I use a Mitsubishi HC5000 now, had it for 3 years and i can never go back to sub HD again.
Love this projector. Just did my first bulb replacement last week.

Now that you have jumped into the projector world, you will never look back Smile

I use a dalite pull down screen. In my new setup though it will be a tensioned screen or a fixed screen.

My projector is my primary gaming display, 102 inches of 1080p gaming glory. Smile
