I always wonder what meanings names and avatars have here on this board. Some have obvious links, while others seem to have no relevance.
So i'll kick off. Grale comes from my long love of a car, the Lancia Integrale which i owned many years ago, and has been given the nick name of Grale by people who own them..
And my avatar used to be the HF elephant which was the racing logo of the lancia's.

I like to change my avatar from time to time, and my latest one i've had since the battle of britain memorial flight last year out of respect. He is the designer of the Spitfire, Reginald Joseph Mitchell.
But where ever i go on the net Grale is usually always my nick.
Sooo i'm sure i'm not the only one interested in knowing a little bit of history about our names/avatars...

Mine is one of the painfully obvious early-internet ones.. *sigh* Sabin, being my favourite character in my favourite RPG (FFVI) and 1981 because "Sabin" was taken most places - even as far back as BBS, so I just added my birth year. I've been using this nick since 1995 and I doubt I'll ever change it =)

Ahh i never played final fantasy, i watched a mate play it on the ps2. think it was back in the mid 90's!

Radicalus - good question. I change user names a lot, and I mean a lot. I have a different one for every game, and even then change it up a lot. Initially I started doing this in games, as I liked to mess around with people. The good old CS/CSS days, when I popped up under a new name, and got called hacker withing the first five minutes, etc. It was a good way to test people.
I rolled with the name Radical for a while, because hey, it's a provocative name, and I like to troll people every now and then. Then I felt like it could use some more fluff, so I added an -us to the end, to make it sound like some latin name.
The avatar picture - I usually don't have such a thing, but I liked the space sphere so much, I had to have him really.

freiwald comes from "walter freiwald".
he was a famous tv shopping moderator. we always laughed when he was on tv, so i took his name.

vegitayo i was young and i loved dragon ball/z and vegeta was my favorite character , and i was too young and stupid to actually know how to write "vegeta" name  and my first nick name supposed to be vegita (actually vegeta's name) but surprisingly was taken and i add an "yo" and is my nick name since early 2000 (i had 8 years back then)

Had a couple of avatars before this one. The first one was connected to the name. It comes from a period I was really into Steve Vai. So vai+fan= vaifan, add the birth year and there's my very unoriginal name.
Second shortlived avatar was a nameless dwarf.
And I don't think this avatar needs explanation.
There's another name I sometimes use for gaming: Deios. No story with that one. Might have been drunk when I came up with that one
