I have a LG Optimus One lying around here, I'm using it mostly home for some games and shit. Some guy offered me an Ipod Touch 4G 8GB for it. I've been wandering if it's ok to do this swap. Is it worth it?
PS: I have other phones to use, so the Ipod would do the same as the LG. So, in terms of multimedia, will it do better than the droid with an Adreno 200 and 768 mhz CPU (juiced out)?

Absofragginglutely! Not only is the iTouch4 more powerful, but you'll also have access to a significantly larger library of games/apps - which is what you want it for in the first place. 8GB is a little low, I once had an 8GB iTouch2 and I traded it up quite quickly for my current 32GB iTouch3, but as far as comparisons go? I'd definitely choose the Touch over the Optimus One, especially since you have other phones so as to not lose the primary function.

Yup, you can. Obviously it will only work over wifi, since the Touch doesn't have 3G/EDGE, but still...

Okay. I just got home, I did the trade with that guy, and I'm overall quite satisfied with the Ipod. Good thing it's already jailbreaked, it has Cydia, Installous, a few games that run GREAT on the device. And dat retina display is kewl Oo. It's almost the same as iPhone 4. I'll be back with some info later, after dinner and a movie. Very Happy

Fuck vibration, the device feels great, i'm having a blast with it, and i guess my next on the list is an iPad 2 when the prices will go down. Not gonna buy an iPhone tho' Cool Face.

<3 my iPad 2. My #1 gripe is that not every developer supports iPads, so I have to run an uncomfortably large chunk of games in 2x mode -- and even with RetinaPad it still looks crappy sometimes, not to mention the horrible placement of touch screen controls that are normally fine for the smaller devices but hard to handle on the larger one.

Isn't the Itouch4 also missing GPS? Or was that just the previous versions?

You can use GPS via bluetooth. It doesn't have built-in GPS.
Well, I'll start stacking some cash for it, and I'll go for one when iPad 3 hits the retail stores here and prices drop Very Happy. That's 6-7 months from now, I'd say Confused.

What does Ipad have to do with prices dropping on the Itouch? Only thing that will drive the Itouch prices down is a new generation of those...
