For the first time in...3 years I actually have a steady income (it's 400€a month but it's more than 'hey maybe I get 50€ this month!').
Now in those three years the list of stuff I wanted to buy has grown. Considerably. So I thought to myself why not buy a couple of things from that list? And bam I'm already down to 75€. I have completely forgotten how to reasonably handle money it seems.
Just pisses me off. I feel like one of those idiots that have a 10k debt by the age of 21. (Mind you I don't but that's beside the point) Wait. That's not enitrely true. I owe my girlfriend about 500€.
tl;dr?

I assume that his place is state financed and that he is talking about the money he has left for actually making purchases Good to hear, 400€ is depending where you live not really much. You always came across as the young, smart guy.
Any special reason (that you might be possible to share) why you can't find something better?

You get €1000 in Holland even if you do not work...! Germany is the no. 1 economy in EU yet your job is paying €400 a month? Maybe because Germany hasn't got minimum wages. To pay everything you need at least €600-700, in Germany too I guess.

you cannot both be content with your income status if its low, and materialistic in what you want..they are conflicting ideals.
No one ever lives a happy life trying to maintain both views.
either be content in what you get coming in, and content with what it gets you.
Or be materialistic in what you want, and materialistically driven on how to acquire the money to do so.
And hell 400 a month? my family would be homeless. our rents $1500 a month, not counting anything else like food, or lights, or internet...
