The third of Jon Favreaus and Dave Filonis modern Star Wars shows that started with The Mandalorian. Not much is known beyond Rosario Dawson playing Ahsoka.
Apparently there's going to be some crossover of those three shows which makes sense (and is a good thing) since both Boba Fett and Ahsoka were revealed in The Mandalorian. And Rosario Dawson was really awesome as an older and more mature Ahsoka.
I also like how these new shows are a bit darker with no qualms about killing off villains in rather harsh ways.
Indeed, more shows like Mandalorian and less movies like the ones we've had.
I don't even recognize the three sequels as part of the main series of movies. To me they're not canon and I wish they'd just move them out of the saga and either replace them with a more Luke-centric saga keeping the struggle between good and evil, the Jedi and Sith, and wtf was the point of that Snoke turd of a character? He was totally useless and apparently a failed experiment in order to create a body for The Emperor which was another totally fuckup as a ridiculous recall of a dead character.
I mean, they basically killed off Luke as well as fucking up the lore that was established in the previous 6 movies as well as de-canonizing most of the other work (games, animated series, books etc.) that was done before Disney/(fuck Kathleen Kennedy).
Anyway, it does seem like Disney really felt the pain after the poor support for the sequels and solo movies. I remember reading articles about how they put their schedule on halt and probably scrapped a lot of the stuff that Kennedy et al had put forward and lessened her grip on the franchise, leading to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau getting their shot. And boy did they figuratively throw mud in Kathleen Kennedys face.
Also, the team behind the new side franchise "The High Republic" are totally raging against Dave Filoni/Jon Favreau/The Mandalorian and up in arms about the inclusion of Jedi's and most of all the ultimate reveal in the last episode of Mando S2.
Though apparently, some of the creators who work in the Lucasfilm Story Group are mad at Favreau and Dave Filoni for keeping the Luke Skywalker cameo a secret, thinking that the press coverage has somehow diminished the hype for the debut of The High Republic.
They’d be right, of course, since as far as Star Wars is concerned, everyone’s still talking about that awesome finale and the Last Jedi’s surprise arrival. And this latest report reinforces the speculation that a civil war is brewing inside the studio as to what direction the galaxy far, far away should take from here on out.
Quote:
Sources tell me that the Lucasfilm Story Group that has been heavily involved in the development of The High Republic is frustrated for several reasons. First, the reveal of Luke Skywalker in the finale of The Mandalorian’s second season took all the oxygen out of High Republic. Who cares about The High Republic if they’re all wondering what happens with Luke Skywalker and his new padawan Grogu (baby Yoda’s revealed name)?
Worse, I’m told they’re furious because they weren’t informed about Luke Skywalker being the season send-off surprise. The people working on High Republic had no idea that Favreau and Filoni would be driving the fanbase into hyperdrive just before they launched a new sub-property that is significantly different. This sort of explains why they struck out at the fanbase reaction publicly.
Well, this girl and character was awesome in what little (or much) we were shown in Mandalorian, so I'm willing to give it a try. Hopefully the writers won't ruin it.
Pretty hyped for this, since I've been skipping SW stuff for a while my tolerance is set low enough to be able to enjoy at least one TV series.
Ashoka was a very cool character in CW/Rebels, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of her in a more adult-friendly setting.

Dude I was having fun, let's not make it an actual serious conversation
Yeah pink hair is just heffin ludicrous in the SW/sci-fi setting (hair dye simply doesn't exist there, hyperspace yeah.. but hair colouring.. technology ain't there yet) and definitely a telltale sign of some kind of degeneracy you take offense with.
Let's hope they also make them all wear hairstyles from the 60's for extra authenticity to the source material too !
Holy fuck

I find it increasingly difficult to immerse myself in these new female dominated shows. Doesn't really matter whether they are woke or not.
Noticed this when watching The Peripheral a few days ago, which by itself was a solid enough show! But it just requires too much suspension of disbelief.
Had no idea, but Ray Stevenson (playing the lead Sith figure) died in May 2023. He was fantastic in Rome and Black Sails.

Well of course. Wokeness has soured female leads. They were fine before.
