I rly shouldn't say this because I agreed to the NDA, but this game sucks. You get a quest "Go to <insert dungeon here> and investigate why the goblins have got an interest for the place". So you got there and there are 3 lvls full of mobs all of them are like right-click, right-click, right-click, left-click, right-click and so on (combat). That goes on for atleast 15 minutes, than you meet the boss and it's like the same thing but you have to use some health and/or mana potions.

It's not supposed to be an awesome game. It's merely a test platform for the guys from Flagship studios to test their net code. So when the Mythos net code performs fine, that's what we will also find in Hellgate:London Smile

Yeah, look at the mythos page, on the left there is even a link to Flagship Studios. And I have that information from some other fanpages. I think it was posted there when the mythos alpha was launched.

Anyone get invited for the testing of this? I love the simple idea, as I was a huge fan of Diablo II (and this particular genre), so I'm curious if anyone has been invited to new beta test yet?

What i think this is... is the creator of Fate's new project. If you go look at screenshots of Fate and look at this... it looks nearly the same. And, the guy who created Fate... went to work for Flagship.

http://games.wildtangent.com/fate/

Wish I had known about this... I loved Fate. Yeah it was simple. But man it was addictive.

Would love to test it.

It was either Game Informer or Games for Windows that was talking about Mythos.

From what I remember, it's being developed by a 10-man team using the exact same engine as the upcoming Hellgate London. Their reason behind having it be free is that the players are essentially beta testing Hellgate London lite. If there is a critical bug that needs to be fixed, it'll piss off a lot fewer people in a free game than with Hellgate.

Still. . . doesnt change the fact that the guy that made Fate went to work for Flagship... and that game (or test) looks an awful lot like Fate.
Not to mention, Fate II was supposed to have multiplayer capability... or at least he was talking about it on the boards for Fate... but he went to Flagship.
Fate was supposedly a very popular game with the Flagship guys. Go look at the screenshots for Fate and then tell me the similarity isn't a little odd to say the least.

Does anyone know how I can download the client ? The official direct-download links are SLOW. And I mean SLOW !

And I'd rather not use torrents Sad

EDIT: Ah, screw it, it's gonna be done tomorrow, I'll be patient.

Usually the client download was very very fast, but since the last few days their servers seem to be under quite a lot of strain. Just be patient Smile
