Going to need a PSU to be able to power 2 GPU's (ATI HD 5770 and NVidia 560 Ti), rest of system:
i7 2600k @ 4,3 GHz, 16 GB mem, 1 HDD, 1 blu-ray rewriter

This system runs 24/7 doing mostly DC these days. Any recommendations on Wattage and brand?

Seasonic X-660 or its bigger brother Smile

I've fallen in love with my X-650, I've not yet come across a single unit anywhere near as good as this, it's just completely dead silent, even under load.

Thanks for the tip Werelds, bought the bigger brother to be closer to 50% consumption.
Must say though this PSU comes neatly packaged. Very Happy

dont let it fool you!

Lol shut up! Very Happy

I never asked for this. They just didn't have the HX1000 in stock at their warehouse so they had no choice but to send me the 1050. And for overclocked GTX 480 SLI, you do need more than 750W unless I want my PSU to sound like a jet engine everytime I game

antec, enermax or Corsair , i would go with one of this companies when it comes to accuracy and authenticity. when they sayin 600w, 600w it will be.

for one gpu 550-600w will be fine and some will say that it will run even two gpu's , but if you guys thinking about oc , go for somthing around 700w + (it maybe also good for your next system) and 700w+ also for sli (will do fine with the 560 and the 5770 )

I got the x-560 (560w) and it can go as far as 730w (under serious temps) according to test reviews. Seasonic is underrating their's PSUs for some reason. Talking about practical wattage, it can do 650w no problem so if you're buying the x-560, you actually get the x-660 minus the designated PCIE sockets (you just hook up another card via a 6 pin peripheral socket). I believe I can hook up another 5850 like the one I have and it'll still be fine. Seems like most people tend to exaggerate with their estimation of how much wattage they really need.

While doing a research for a psu I found that Antec, Corsair, and some more brands are all made by Seasonic. So basically if you're buying Corsair, you're buying a Seasonic, the cables and labeling would be the only thing really done/added by Corsair.

Fuck, how often do I need to repeat myself Neutral

Antec and Corsair depends on the model. Their Seasonic models will do that, yes. However, neither Antec nor Corsair actually build PSUs. Enermax do build their own PSUs, and good ones at that, although Seasonic is still the undefeated king, their units still run cooler (and thus quieter).

It is extremely important to understand that NOT ALL Antec and Corsair units are Seasonic builds though. For Corsair as an example:
- VX450/550: both Seasonic
- TX650 v1: Seasonic (was replaced by 1.1 very quickly)
- TX650 v1.1: CWT
- TX650 v2 (current one being sold): Seasonic.
- TX above 650: v1 and 1.1 are ALL CWT, only the new V2's are Seasonic
- HX series: ALL CWT EXCEPT HX650

That's just a small example of how careful you have to be with Corsair. Antec is easier to identify.

today in the internet days, it is much easier to know and to decide with alot of hardware tests and user's reviews i guess.
