I bought a new headset a week ago, and just tried to plug it in, and I'm having trouble using it with my speakers at the same time.
Usually the speakers are connected to my audigy soundcard through the green jacket.
Now, my motherboard has two jackets in the front of the casing for a headset.
the trouble is I have no idea how to switch the sound from the soundcard to the motherboard.
It's not a big problem, I can always unplug the speaker and plug the headset in, but if there's a solution to this white peoples problem I want it.

In Win7: playback devices, set the one you want as default, job done. Can't remember for XP.
Doesn't your Audigy have FP headers? Could just unplug it on the motherboard, stick it into the Audigy; pretty sure my Live! had FP headers. Creative's software will then automatically mute speakers whenever you plug the headset in
