So buddy of mine is coming to Germany and italy for a month.

I was able for germany to find him a pre paid solution to have data on his iphone without having to use his US dataplan which would make him broke using it in europe.

The prepaid was around 5 euro for the simcard, 5 euro credit you are supposed to put on it, and 10/15 euro for the data ( HSDPA ) depending how many gigabytes you use.

so basicly he could do whatever with his phone for 25 euros for a month and throw the sim card away after without any obligations.

Now i am trying to find him one for italy also

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mobile_network_operators_of_Europe#Italy

for germany i went through the list of virtual mobile operators since they are usually the only affordable pre paid data solutions out there.
But of course my italian is pretty bad to figure out who offers what.

So i hoped someone from italy could help me out here Smile thanks!

prepaid AT&T was a bad deal for me in the US. found out it would actually be cheaper for me just to use my norwegian "One call"

dunno how it is the other way around, but US companies seem greedy as hell

Sadly my knowledge on such offers is almost nonexistent since I own a very old phone from the ealy 2000s Razz

Anyway, did you take a look here? http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/italy.html (Tim and Vodafone are both very good)

you think? AT&T is trying to merge with T-Mobile USA..which would make it largest GSM provider the united states...Verizon and Sprint are both CDMA

monopoly ftw

thanks for those, vodaphone looks solid and no need to order it online, there might be better deals but its way better than AT&T ripping him off by paying 50 dollars for a month of 250mb data in europe.

just trying to disect the 30 euros the second site mentions, first site says 10 euro activation ( of which 5 goes to your credit i assume ) and and 8 euros for a week of 2gb.
