You think you got computer problems? check this shit out. Yesterday I went to my GF's house to spend a nice relaxing day with her. Toward night time, a huge thunder storm took place. It was just a storm, no big deal as always Im not afraid of storms, its just rain who cares. So the storm calms down after a few hours and I headed home.
I came home at 11pm and my fucking TV wont turn on, it gives a red blinking light with an error code. ok WTF in the past 5 years, this shit never happened even with all the storms that took place in the past FIVE FUCKING YEARS. So I turn on my PC, and guess what, no fucking picture on my monitor! 
After a while I figured out that it was one of my GPU that was causing no picture. Bottom GPU works just fine, top GPU isnt even recognized in device manager...theres just nothing there.
Hopefully its the PCI-E slot that got fucked and not the GPU itself because first, I only have warranty on the motherboard not the GPU and second of all, I cant fucking find another one of these cards theyre so fucking rare!!!!!!!!!!!
And if I had a dry system I can simply just swap cards in and out to see if its the slot or the GPU right? But my whole system is fucking water cooled FML!!!!!!!!!! which means I have to empty the PC, move the shit around, fill the PC and see if its the GPU or the card thats fucked, then I have to empty the pc AGAIN, and then remove the fucked up component and then refill the PC AGAIN.
If its the GPU, well then I am simply fucked. If its the motherboard, gotta remove EVERYTHING which means fucking hours and hour of labor
Oh and did I forget to mention my fucking TV is fried!!

From now on Im unplugging ALL my shit before I leave home. fucking mother nature FUCK YOU

Wait, let me check my appliances ... Hmm, everything in order, the whole PC is working as good as ever, ready for the release of DX. Just bought a new functioning TV as well. So why did I type all this down? ... don't know ... Good luck with the repairs!

I would be a bit more understanding if this happened 2 or 3 weeks ago but just days before Deus Ex 3?
And another fucked up situation, I just went to the store to purchase distilled water but they are sold out and wont get any shipments until Tuesday. There are no stores nearby that sell distilled water (Ive had a similar situation in January where I went all around town looking for something so fucking simple...distilled water and nobody fucking sells it!) It was unbelievable
So yea now I cant even begin troubleshooting the comp until tuesday (day of deus ex 3) since I aint got no water

Perhaps I forgot to mention that my TV is fried! Also I wouldn't be able to burn the game since this dell laptop Im using only has a regular dvd drive. Not that I would play the console version even if I had the burner and my TV was working
And regarding the distilled water, I literally spent an entire day going around town looking for distilled water and found only one place which is where I went tonight but theyre always sold out unless I go on the day they get shipments which is tuesday. Cuz everybody knows this is the only place to get the distilled water so they all stock up on that shit

The moisture content in the air has to be pretty high, and unless you have Tesla coils (very high voltage), the arches produced by normal voltage aren't that big.
Still I agree that you'd have to pull everything out, if you do not have surge protectors on your wall sockets (that's why I plug out the cable on my router)...
