Not sure if I bitched about this before so here goes.
I have a recurring back pain.
Not spinal column or disc but a muscle pain.
Maybe 5cm below my right shoulder blade.
Comes irregularly with varying intensities and varying duration.
Usually it's not too annoying but when it's one of the worse days I just take some weak pain pills (the prescription free kind so nothing strong) and it takes care of that.
There are days though where they don't help and I just have to suffer through it.
Anyway, went to see a doctor about it and what did I get as a diagnosis?
myalgic syndrome
Which basically means "Yep, your muscles hurt and I have no clue why"
So once again medicine turns out to be useless. Bloody hell.
Dunno need to find myself a good message therapist or something like that.

Stop using the mouse?

But seriously, you probably need some easy rehab gymnastics for your shoulder and back, and perhaps lay off sitting in front of a computer. Perhaps you can sort out any ergonomic issues where you have your PC?

You probably have an inflamed muscle due to static tension thanks to some ergonomic problem (sitting position, no support for arm when using mouse etc.).

I would get a second opinion first off.

Go to a back specialist/should doc/another gp.... Cant remember what they are called, Google all of em.
See what he says. If you did do something to a shoulder disc (I have fucked up my shoulders so bad) he will prolly give you pain pills (tell them you need good ones in a non drug seeking way) and either recommend physiotherapy or professional massage or a chiropractor.

It could be stress.

I was "crippled" one time cause of stress. Like my dad had to call 911 to come get me cause i couldnt move and i had balls of muscles on my back, even the EMTs were puzzled.
Anyway, they gave me a serious muscle relaxer, advil/aspirin, wheelchair and the doc gave me a quick 5 mins massage and my dad with his bear hand massaged it for a good 20 mins.
Then i could leave the hospital. Like I could almost stand up straight, back still was killer.
They gave me strong pk's and muscle relaxers as well as I had to see a specialist and shrink.

My back probs are cause of sports.

Been doing martial arts for 26 years. I took this week off. But I train a min 2 hours a day day dude. My abs (which is what u need to make your back strong) are rock solid as is the rest of my body.
I am in perfect health (according to my doc).

Its just wear and tear on the body.

Unless you arent active at all. Then yea, I would lose weight, work like crazy on my abs and upper body. Not to be model like, but so your abs are strong as wells as back.

But I dont think he sits around and isnt active Pump

edited for spelling mistakes

That would be an osteopath which can be very expensive if you have to pay for it.

That's probably it or that's at least what the doc suspected before he told me that he basically has no clue and is just guessing.

@LuftBrada:
No and like I said I'm pretty sure it's muscle pain.

I should work on my back muscles a bit but a) uni leaves me next to no time for sports and b) I have no money for a gym so it'd have to be some sort of home excercises.
Need to look some up I guess.

Osteopath's know their shit m8...If it can be fixed an osteopath will fix it..You might only need 1-2 sessions so it might not work out all that expensive.

Turn head to side. Pull in chin and nod. Repeat 2-4 times. (each side)

Pull in chin and draw your head back. Stretch your neck for ca 20 seconds.

Bend head backwards and twist head softly from side to side 2-4 times.

Pull shoulders towards your ears and then relax shoulders, 2-4 times.

Roll your shoulders a few times, forward and backwards, 2-4 times.

Push shoulders backwards and tense up between the shoulder blades/scapula.

Press palms against each other and lift arms upwards. Stretch for 20 seconds.

Bend hand maximally and twist arm outward. Straighten elbow and stretch for 20 seconds.

Pull in chin and bend head to the side. Lower shoulder. Stretch for 20 seconds. Do both sides.

Pull chin in and bend head forward. Put hand on head and press softly against the chest. Stretch for 20 seconds.

Braid your fingers together and stretch your arms and pull out the muscles between the shoulder blades/scapula. Stretch for 20 seconds.

Stand up (or sit) and stretch back backwards.

Obviously you should take it easy if any of these exercises cause excessive pain.

Didnt know the name of the doc.

In Canada its free. Ur family doc or a doc from a walk in clinic or a hospital refers you.

@Rek

Do you live in a country with universal healthcare like Canada, England, France etc?

The simplest thing against that pain is walking, preferably in the forest..

I have a completely fucked up back from professional Judo, and working in a storage area.. fucking lift things all the time, now the back is whining all the time, need a new job.

But, spend the weekend walking about in the forest, works wonders..

My chiropractor tipped me off, and doctor agreed.. esp. if you walk in different angled areas, it works wonders on poor backs/joints.. the body is just plain ol' forced and oiled..

And, as a bonus, I find a shitload of shrooms.. Very Happy Both the fun kind, and the edible kind!
