Christopher Nolan had previously expressed his wish to make a game set in the Inception world and apparently there's a dev team already working on it: http://news.bigdownload.com/2010/11/30/inception-game-in-the-works-says-christopher-nolan/
My theory: the movie is distributed by Warner Bros., therefore an Inception game would be published by WB Games. Monolith are a WB studio since 2004 and they've already made a game based on a movie by WB: The Matrix Online MMO, therefore they might be working on the Inception game. Or I am 100% wrong, idk

Hopefully its the same team that made the matrix mmo so this game will disappear faster than it came out.

And why would you expect transforming dreams? If I remember well dream transformation was shown in the movie very briefly; when Ariadne was experiencing the dreaming for her first time and started experimenting by changing things, but Cobb said it's a very bad idea and I don't think they did it again.

They are using the universe to create a game in it, they are not doing a movie game (at least that's how I understand it). I don't see how this is a bad thing. Bioshock could very well be set in a similar universe for example and that was a good game.
They have a great setting to take advantage of. If they actually try to make a decent game there is no reason it should fail. So I think simply bashing it only for being based on Inception is unnecessary.
Edit: Another example: Psychonauts - you basically explored the dreams/subconscious of other people in that game...

Plus the movie has been released like 5 months ago so there's no reason to rush it; the quality of the game doesn't have to suffer.

Well, at the very least, a Monolith game was canceled (that superannuation is convinced it was a Batman game probably connected to the Nolan films, but I think it might have been this Inception game) and now Monolith is making The Hobbit: Part One game.
