Somalia brings up a good question.. does the world need a "Police" force ??
Quote: | More than 29,000 children under the age of 5 have died in the last 90 days in southern Somalia alone |
(Due to fucking retards fighting over religion/power)
What does the world do ???
Sure the UN/USA give food aid etc.. but who stops the fighting ?????

Shouldn't the US also invade the UK and help them police the London riots? They clearly cannot deal with them.

Police just treats the symptoms, it doesn't cure the disease.

No the world doesn't need Police to monitor you or anyone else. World needs a better and equal resource allocation, so that all ppl would have a chance at better life. Educate ppl and try to reason with them, try to teach them that violence solves nothing and change will eventually come...
Police only use force and violence to deal with violence. For me that is totally absurd.

problem is that the human race just isnt built for that. you can not 'educate' the masses and teach them peace and love, its just simply never EVER going to be possible.
BUT as far as the question goes... thats a tough one, it really is. i believe that having some force hold back the chaos is preferable to your solution of just sending them flowers and telling them to give peace a chance... but on the flipside, i hate the idea of people marching into a country and telling them what to do...
even worse is that the system is corrupt. america will happily go in to defend the weak and abused... but only as long as it benefits them. take zimbabwe... place is a shithole with absolutely nothing redeemable or worthwhile in it, so america never went there to stop that mugabe fuck.
so i guess my answer is YES the world needs world police, but it needs an honest and even-handed force - which unfortunately doesnt exist (and it sure as fuck isnt america) - because the human race isnt built for peace, tolerance and understanding... and frankly it never will be, no matter how much education you give, or how many pretty little flowers you send...

I don't like to use the word never ever, because, for example, in science it was often thought that ppl wouldn't be able to do a lots of stuff and yet you see the boundaries of science expand forward bringing unimaginable things to our daily lives...
Also I think, and I'm talking from experience, that by learning and educating you are changing the way ppl think and behave.
The world taday is in the state it is, not because our behavior is set in stone, but because we live at a certain time.
Until we evolve enough to realize that violence can't solve a thing, we will be in the same state we are in today. But, who knows, in 500 years, or even sooner, we might be able to overcome our differences and violence won't be needed as a way of solving some issues.
As I've said, having a force using violence to stop violence is pretty much meaningless...

No major oil deposits in the UK. Thus, there isn't any founded reason of sending troops there.

-=Cartoon= - Interesting topic you bring up.
I watched a documentary last night about Somalia and its problem with piracy on open water. Some disturbing facts there for sure. It talked about Somalia being a war zone and that your chances of survival where better being on the open water as a pirate rather then living on the land itself. That the only people who stand up on land against (I am going to say warlords but that might not be correct) are a Extreamist Islamic group.
Anyway the pirates are pushing out farther and farther every yr because of all the different military presence, French, British, Norwegian (I think?) They all have different ways of doing things and sometimes this leads to the hostages being shot. They don't give into the pirates demands, but some let the pirates and smaller boats go on their way and the hostages are later released, sometimes they use force on the smaller boats and hostages get shot. When they find pirates who haven't committed a crime yet they take the guns and leave them with enough fuel to get back to Somalia, they don't want to try them in a international court because they will just be let go.
Anyway, I don't have all my facts perfect here, but with this in mind I think World police could be a better idea. It seems a mess to have all these different countries getting involved with this, to have one unified collection would be better.

Well they can and will
29,000 Children Dying in a couple of months is a bit diff eh ?
Basically.. who looks out for those 29,000 children ?????
Or are we that much of a heartless/primative people that we just turn a blind eye and say "Not our problem" ?
Oh and I am talking from a pure millitary point of view..
It currently seems like a wife getting beaten up every night.. then during the day a doctor goes to her house.. treats her wounds/bruises.. then leave for the husband to continue bashing her every night.. and no one will stop him

Don't really give two fucks about the children in Somalia. Children in the US, UK, and many other countries have it hard enough as it is. Let's fix that before we send aid to a country that is in the middle of a fucking desert where people shouldn't be living in the first place.
