Looking for a adequate gaming pc Laughing

Nothing to build. Not yet. No time for that shit.

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7225657&CatId=1886
but that's pushing it

All I want to play is just cause 2, farcry 1 and 2, splinter cell games and of course css Laughing

However if someone can list me a list of specs for under 1200 to build a decent enough system i'll try to find time to build it.

The first one has weak video card, second one too, third one is a bit better, but still.

I'd never buy a prebuilt comp...

It's good, but you'd definitely need a better GPU.

ATI HD 5750 is weak, weaker than 460 definitely! But you could try to sell it and buy a new card Smile

If u dont want to build it, then order the parts and let them assemble it for you? Should become alittlebit cheaper, they allways take abit more cash out of your pocket from those prebuilt systems.

compared to the first one, it's weaker... worse processor, less memory. Only thing that's better is the GPU...

Buy the first one, and then upgrade GPU later...

Considering my E8400, 4GB ram, and GTX470 system can still play every game max settings - I'm quite confident you can build a system for little to nothing besides the GPU expenses.

I'd go on ebay and find an old C2D/C2Q system and then just buy a decent GPU.

This is basically what I'm planning to buy, but I picked different brands on this side of the ocean.

Why put 2500K cpu in locked mobo?

Seems garus beat me to it, those items are quite close to what you'd want. difm has a point though, H67 motherboard can't overclock the CPU, which I don't think Waldo is looking to do anyway. On the other hand, the difference between 2500 and 2500K is only $20, so I personally don't think it's worth *not* getting the unlocked variant, just in case you do want to OC later on (which is ridiculously easy with that thing).

You could also opt for a Seasonic X-560 instead of the HX650; both are Seasonic builds, but the actual Seasonic unit is quite a bit more silent.

As for how good that setup is Waldo? It shits all over any of the systems you linked; obviously this still lacks a case, but put a $80 case around it (or use your current case), and you'll be set for years to come. The $1200 system is faster for heavy video encoding, but that's about it.

Yeah, I'm wondering too. :\

I made the mistake of buying a H67 and now I want a Z68 or P67. Smile

Why do ppl who don't dabble with computers refer to comp building as if they are building a bomb? grinhurt

It's computer, the worst thing that can happen is that you break sth xD

But you have manual and internet. Most ppl learned to put together their comp that way Smile

No, I'm serious. People have this misconception that building PCs is difficult, something requiring vast knowledge and education. It doesn't. It's component A going into slot B.

It's worth the time Waldo. That's the biggest issue with building a PC, it takes some time. You do end up with a much better system than any of those pre-fab pieces of shit though Smile

And like Sabin says, you can't really do it wrong. If you find yourself applying force, grab the manual because that's wrong. Everything slides into the respective slot with ease nowadays and it all comes with an installation booklet as well.

No i know. i used to build pc's back in the days of when i was a yooth. But now, I just repair bits and pieces here that can be repaired by a commoner. And last time i touched in the innards of a computer was that of a SAN. and that was 4 weeks ago. A regular system I touched was well over 8 years ago.

But those items they're i5 Neutral isn't i7 all the better?
I'm so behind the times it's not even funny.

Exactly, it's just connecting things that can be connected in only one specific place. You can't do it wrong.

Lol.
Need to find a case and a monitor (as I lack a monitor Sad)

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3556612&CatId=3427

Hmmm Neutral

Ok so options still are. Build a brand spankin new one. Technology is derp proof now. That's good. Or buy the shitty 500 doller one and sort of upgrade it. (shut up. I'm still up on that one cause it's under budget leaving me with enough for a monitor + new gpu)
