I bought myself a Seagate 5gb CF for my Axim X50v some weeks ago. At the moment it feels very pleasent to stack up tons of music and some XviD series and movies. And now I read this. It's insane how the development goes today. I wonder how much this one would cost when It's out. This is very nice for gps maps, more music and more movies and pictures.
Together with this increasement, 1,8 inch (CF are 1.5 inch) ones will be able to store about 80gb.

Laughing , no this is for Pocket PC's and digital cameras. You could also use it in laptops but that's pretty stupid as there are much bigger IDE drives like 100gb. CF cards are very good to use instead of usb drives and floppys but you won't need that size. The 1.8 inch ones will fit into pc cards i think. They are also used in Ipods.
Even smaller ones (0.85 inch) from Toshiba are coming out to be embedded in cell phones and PDA's.
