Do you enjoy Unigine Heaven benchmark? Have you ever imagined a game with the same setting powered by its stunning to the eye technology? Your dreams come true: now there is a RPG based on the Unigine engine featuring floating islands and mystical caves in a fantasy setting.
Dilogus - The Winds of War
It's a third person High Fantasy RPG action game that immerses players deep into the awe inspiring fantasy world of Dilogus, allowing them to experience it from multiple perspectives of six unique characters in both single player and co-operative multiplayer mode on Linux and Windows platforms.
Dilogus - Winds of War is based on a fictional fantasy universe, which was polished for over seven years. Being a fantasy RPG the game immerses the player into a fantasy world, allowing them to play their characters any way possible. The open world feature of the game fuels this option and makes sure the players have enough choices.
While the game's actual advancement system is planned to be a bit simpler than the usual RPG style, the main focus is placed into the actual interaction with the world and the combat system, making sure that both the single player and multiplayer experiences are equally enjoyable. Providing the players with six uniqiue characters to start from ensures there is enough room for every type - as each character has it's strengths and weakness.
The game features a system that allows the player to make use of their character, fists, boots and elbows included, supplementing the weapon based combat system.
There is a big contrast in game environment: big open places, when the players are on the top of this cliffs, and closed caves, underground cities, when players enter caves within these cliffs. Dilogus features beautiful environment at some places, while dark and horror-like at others.
"Unigine is a great technology for our game because it provides amazing image quality and easily handles large worlds as well as extremely-detailed indoors. The project was originally started as a full conversion mod and we have tried out several top-level engines before Unigine. This having been said, Unigine has proven to be the best technology for our game", commented Taylor Hughes, Technical Artist of Digital Arrow.
"Dilogus is a very ambitious project, but I see a rare combination of high aspirations and expertise of the team, so I'm pretty confident in their success", commented Denis Shergin, CEO of Unigine Corp.
The game world resembles Unigine Heaven benchmark a lot, it's like a "Heaven RPG". Developers say that Unigine Heaven was actually one of the inspirations for them.
"We find Unigine perfect. Unigine also supports Linux - which I don't have to say how important is for us (part of the team are active Linux users). And since there is no high quality RPG out there for Linux, we wish to be one of the first developers that do this.
We are very devoted to produce this game, and for us, problems are just another battle to win. It's how the game industry works - problem solving all the way. The leadership behind the project has extensive experience coming from the modding and indie community, and have lots of experience in the business field as well. We see this as a fixed goal - and we wish to achieve this goal, so we will", said Norbert Varga, CEO of Digital Arrow.
not sure i dig 6 characters perspective, might be bit waste of resources for minor game impact if you dont feel like replaying many times , which could been used prolonging game or making it better, but maybe its as good as da1, and we will be replaying at least once or twice
I've been following this game for quite a while on ModDB and I wanted to make a thread but I also wanted to wait until more it's known about it and by this I mean proof that the game works. There are like 2 screenshots from what I know and quite a lot of concept art which is absolutely great. The game sounds promising but as I said, I want some proof that what they say actually works.
