for some stupid reason my net connection keeps dying. everything will be going along fine... sometimes minutes, sometimes hours, and then my net dies. i check my router and it says my dsl status is down.

and it only comes back up when i restart the router... and sometimes it wont even reconnect when i do that...

and yes the routers firmware is up to date, and this is a brand new freakin router.. so what could be happening? Sad

fucks sake i didnt even have enough time to type this entire message before it died this time.. i tried doing a software reset on my router, but i cant see why that would make a difference...

got another router you can try out? Could be a dud. Mine was like that but the firmware update helped it a bit, still disconnects.

What router are you running? You know the routine, the more info you give the quicker we get you going Very Happy

This happens on occasion with my modem also. I called the support center for my ISP and got a new one, and guess what.... Same fucking problem then. Their theory is that my connection is unstable or whatever and solution to reduce speed. Not acceptable. If this isn't bullshit, just hope you don't have the same as i recall you having a shit connection.

call your ISP to check the line, sounds like problem on their end

or if you have NID in your house, plug cable directly into that and check..maybe its wiring inside your house..but you would be better off to call your ISP

when there was small tornado around where i live, i had freqeuent disconnects every 5 minute..i called my isp..talked with level 1 tech..he just run some silly tests..i had to get my ticket escalated to level 3 isp and they run 24 hour line test and confirmed cables outside of the house were fucked

EDIT : DSL is pretty picky, depends how far are you away from the CO and what kind of path they put you on, intereleveted, fast path, asdl..and other nonsense crapola

its a zyxel p-2612hw-f1 and its already died another 3 times since i posted this message Sad

ive had ZERO problems with disconnects for months and NO problem like this has EVER happened before..

i sent them an email, but if i still have this problem tomorrow ill call them. router better not be busted, i only just bought the thing.
