|
 |
I'm about to come into about £560 worth of shopping vouchers (it's a benefit we get from work every year) and I'd rather have some cash so I'm thinking of selling them on eBay.
Is anyone familiar with the fees, for example if they sell for £400 how much am I going to have to pay to eBay?

I guess you've already looked at http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/fees.html ?
10% of the final selling price (up to a maximum of £40) + an insertion fee based on starting price (£100 or more £1.30) is the bare minimum afaik, extra features in the auction cost extra.
Can't those vouchers be used for groceries etc.? I mean you don't have to use the full amount all at once, right? Just buy whatever you'd buy anyway and you get the full amount's worth.

Hmm, what if you got a watch or some gold and then went to return it? Would the receipt show it's been bought with vouchers and you'd just get them back? How about if you bought something that cost over 560£ and so you'd have to use some of your own money, what then?

Um, nope, like I said we are given so much money to spend by my employer every year as part of our flexible benefits scheme. This ranges from money straight into pension, private medical upgrades, free dental etc but I'd not use any of those so I choose the vouchers every time.
I usually spend it on clothes but not bothered this year, I'd rather have the money.

I would never use Ebay for anything. Anytime i am forced to buy something online (like my latest gpu), I dont even use my own credit card. I get someone else to put it on theirs and i give em the cash right away (not in like 2 months i will pay, already have money all the time, no fights that way).
To many black hats and govs that collect personal data and credit card numbers are like heroin to them

That's why i have a special debit card that i transfer money to prior to a purchase.
GeordieRacer, why don't you try to use some kind of online classified ad sites? Depending on the type of vouchers you can find a specific board, like some chick forum for clothes etc.

You can always try here = http://www.giftcardconverter.co.uk/
I am not recommending it (I still think my £2.60 is a great offer) but I saw it on some TV show once, so I dunno what its like, but it seems to offer what you want, dunno if they take your ones though.

I've had a long hard think about your proposal and I'm delighted to tell you that I will not accept your generous offer!
I've looked at that other site and it seems to be gift cards only, but thanks.

yeah, ive seen those recently. Credit cards u load up. Put 200 on the card lets say, and thats all u can spend, no overdraft, xtra fee's etc
I hardly use my credit card. My cred is good. I pay everything in cash. I don't trust assholes with my credit card.
6 times in the last 8 months my dad has had to get a new card because someone tried to duplicate his, use it and the bank catches it right away (a service i got for him) and cancels the card entirely and alerts the police.
Plus the interest rates on CC's...fuck...25-32% interest rate? In their fucking dreams they are getting that from me. Ur handing your money over for free essentially.
Its bad enough it costs money to keep your money in your bank account(s) and withdraw it from your bank....never mind the fee's that come with credit/debit cards.
I'm not cheap, but I am not giving my money to crooked billionaire assholes. I just cant do it, call me crazy.

Ive seen those types of card but gift cards are slightly different in that they are bought as gifts for people and they are usually limited to one store.
