So i can only find one option that has anything to do with vibration on my Acer liquid MT ( 2.2 ) and its set to "always".
everything will vibrate on my phone, incoming messages on messenger app, breaking news through my news app, inc phone call, but not through SMS, it only makes the notification sound.
Also when in wifi mode for some reason when my screen is locked ( dark ) and come back after a while it has to reconnect to the wifi, anyway to have it connected to the wifi unless i specify it to disconnect?

That is set individually. Go to the message app, press menu button and select settings.
Wifi is set to sleep by default. Go to wifi settings, and then you press menu physical button, select advanced and set to never sleep.
