He's claiming I brought bed bugs into the house. Which is a load of shit. £1800, small claims court

Hahahahahaha, I'd like to see him succeed with that claim in any decent court. If this claim actually goes through and ends up in the High Court and succeeds there, that would mean that you could sue someone for giving you a cold.

Will they bring in forensics so that they could match the DNA in the bugs with yours?

bed bugs are common, especially dust bugs if he took a look at his beds or any persons bed under a scope he would see literally millions of them lol.
your landlord is just looking for excuses to get shot of you it seems, he must know what hes doing is fucking crazy but hoping you would have enough of having to go through the charade and just go instead..

Well I have a letter that he sent me (in pdf format) that is from Rentokil, which is the company that did the fumigating or whatever.
In it it states that they started in my room 'approximately 3 months prior to treatment being carried out'.
I'll explain in full after the court date but this isn't the case at all, I have further evidence.
And Moose, I'm in a new place now, I moved out in July, he kept £320 od my deposit as well 'because I didnt put enough ticks on the cleaning rota'.
Im counter claiming.

He is, he's a prick, he has a website and things which i'll show you when this is all done and dusted along with 'company name' which i'll post.
He's a goddam prick
He also kept £400 from a slovakian anesthatist doctor who was studying over here for a few months, she was really cool as well. He kept £400 from another tenant for 'not putting enough ticks on the cleaning rota' and also £340 from a couple because a bottle cap had fallen down the plug hole.

'not putting enough ticks on the cleaning rota'? I have never heard of this phrase in my life. Must be a European thing. Can you explain what ticks and rota is?? Hahahah,. Sorry, from US and I associate ticks with those bugs that give you lime disease and rota..well. must be some freaky deaky dutch thing.

He implemented a cleaning rota whereby you had to put so many ticks on a grid to show youd done your 30 for the week.
for example vacuuming the lounge was worth 5 ticks.
petty, I know.

im taking mine to court aswell, for being a cunt!! before i renewed my lease, 1 of the rooms was not rented for 5 weeks, and because i paid my rent 1 week late, hes saying that i owe him for the 5 weeks the room wasnt rented! hes a complete cunt, and if he tries screwing me over, i will fuck him and his wife over

I would love to hear how he can prove they started out in your room. The guy is obviously a joker.
I'm glad to hear you have a counter claim, but I think you should up the amount to include all the stress the landlord has caused you.
