Use a vaporizer, smoking it normally is more toxic (cancerogenous) than smoking tobacco.

How does marijuana affect the lungs?
Scientists believe that marijuana can be especially harmful to the lungs because users often inhale the unfiltered smoke deeply and hold it in their lungs as long as possible. Therefore, the smoke is in contact with lung tissues for long periods of time, which irritates the lungs and damages the way they work. Marijuana smoke contains some of the same ingredients in tobacco smoke that can cause emphysema and cancer. In addition, many marijuana users also smoke cigarettes; the combined effects of smoking these two substances creates an increased health risk.

Can marijuana cause cancer?
Marijuana smoke has been found to contain more cancer-causing agents than is found in tobacco smoke. Examination of human lung tissue that had been exposed to marijuana smoke over a long period of time in a laboratory showed cellular changes called metaplasia that are considered precancerous. In laboratory test, the tars from marijuana smoke have produced tumors when applied to animal skin. These studies suggest that it is likely that marijuana may cause cancer if used for a number of years.

Quote:
Cannabis consumers who desire the rapid onset of action associated with inhalation but who are concerned about the potential harms of noxious smoke can dramatically cut down on their intake of carcinogenic compounds by engaging in vaporization rather than smoking. Cannabis vaporization limits respiratory toxins by heating cannabis to a temperature where cannabinoid vapors form (typically around 180-190 degrees Celsius), but below the point of combustion where noxious smoke and associated toxins (i.e., carcinogenic hydrocarbons) are produced (near 230 degrees Celsius). Because vaporization can deliver doses of cannabinoids while reducing the users intake of carcinogenic smoke, it is considered to be a preferred and likely safer method of cannabis administration than smoking marijuana cigarettes or inhaling from a water pipe. According to the findings of a recent clinical trial, use of the Volcano vaporizing device delivered set doses of THC to subjects in a reproducible manner while suppressing the intake of respiratory toxins.

One reason is that you don't use filters when smoking marijuana and thus inhale everything produced by combustion.

You are an idiot if you don't think it hurts your longues to inhale smoke. There are definitely well documented studies that points to it being a road to cancer as well.

Oh fuck! Im gonna stop breathing, eating and drinking liquids. Also, lock myself up in a plastic and Worchestershire sauce-free room.

Also, my parents are left-handed, so I shall kill them to minimize their suffering.

yeah, like comparing a 1 in a million risk to a 1 in maybe 4 or 5... not to mention how much it sucks to die from emphysema. or the increased risk of arteriosclerosis leading to heart attack, stroke or any number of vascular diseases that will guarantee you die early.

not even mentioning that that exposure to carcinogens still follows the exposure type * exposure level * exposure time/amount = 'amount of cancer causing shit' formula. You just don't smoke nearly as much weed as you would tobacco in a day, so even if it's worse (and the actually delivery mechanism = same since they are both combustion vs. the safer vapourization) you expose yourself less than an "average"tobacco smoker would. Too bad for those guys who do both I guess Wink

broken record says: moderation is key Smug

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

I can never bring myself to dump a pile up weed into a pot of water and butter Sad

I know that likely I'll be successful in making something I can get high off, but another part of me worries I'm wasting weed and should just have a bong hit instead Smile

I have done it before and it can be extremely great. I made some cookies for a festival and that was just awesome. Eat a few chocolate cookies an hour before a concert, drink a few brews, make a couple of joints to bring with you and then rock out for 8 hours Very Happy

oh, I've eaten weed cookies many times. even weed + mushroom cookies which are even better, especially in peanut butter Smile

I smoke a fair amount ... sure I get high before I concert but most of the time it's just everyday regular high Smile

Smoking seems to be bad for the intelligence (or hand/eye coordination, take your pick) as it causes you to write "heath" instead of "health" Smug

... unless of course you actually meant to say that smoking is bad for your evergreen shrubbery.
