|
 |
Hi guys!
I am replacing all my dvdrip movies with BRRIPS version. (Brrips becouse 720p is enough and its perfect ratio beetween disk space (mostly around 2-3gb and quality. Even brrips that are the same size as original, are more detailed - See the Thing movie. I have dvdrip and brrip of the sawme window size and brrip is extremly more detailed)
anyway.
This is all confusing. When searching for example: Pitch Black or Leon the professional I get
(pure example)
Pitch Black(2000).720P.BRRip.H264.ResourceRG
Leon The Professional 1994 BRRip H264 AAC-SecretMyth
Is that correct? What should I look for in specs?
avi or mp4?
And there is a sound file sometimes. "2CH audio". Does that mean that default movie file contains 5.1 and I will loose some sound watching it on headphones or stereo speakers? Or Do I HAVE TO load that 2CH audio file somehow?
As far as I see there is no option for that in media player classic.
and what codecs are You people using? I am on cccp and have occasionals pauses when rewinding movies. also I have to set 16-235 to 0-255 shader option in order to remove greys for real black

H264 is the best HD encoding known to man but theres barely no stand alone players who support that. Consoles doesnt support that either unless you want to loose alot of quality and constent buffering. So you need to watch it on PC.

ok
let me explain it to you , BDrips are well rips of 720p BD mkv rips with bitrates half the rate of the original rip, example : BD 720 rip has 7240 bitrate and 8 gig , BDrip is now in sub-hd with 3620 bitrate it now takes 2,5 or 3 gigs
so why they add 2ch sound : most of those rips are made for HomeHDD players and xbox360 and well...those only can decode 2ch sound from a avi/mp4 file, if those movies would be in 5.1 you would hear nothing or you would get a out of synch sound in your film
avi or mp4? well the answer is simple MP4 ... BDrips in Avi are Xvid rips and they look awful compared to H264/x264/ MPEG-4 AVC... so why they still use Xvid? well avis are for 360 , mp4 are for Ps3 ... simple enough , but if you want quality in those [ ] go for Mp4 BDrips
if you want quality go for BDrips from groups like : HDlite , SecretMyth
o and why those where made , well DVD rips are rips from a 720x480 4:3 DVD when BDrips are rips from a 1920×1080/1280×720 16:9 BD ... thats why bdrips look so crisp even if they ratio is halved
what codecs are we using? VLC or use ZoomPlayer from your CCCP codecs or BSplayer

wish my xbox1 played higher than component resolution (720x480). I know xbox360 cant run XBMC so I dont have any use in upgrading to a 360 to watch my xvid rips..or bdrips for that matter.

Thanks for Quality anserw!
That explains a lot.
So I can just delete all that 2CH audio files from BRrips if I am playing it on PC. Or save them for use with 360 etc. ok I get it thanks.
bookmarked

Do I need to set anything? O only dx9 renderless and 3d Textures to Sharder 0-255 can be enabled?

I use brrip.
Anyway, I see I'm not the only one with the slightly washed-out colors on VLC. Any info ?

depends on what you want. i always search by 1080p or 720p depending on what i want, or 480p or brrip if i want the lower res variety.

but then its x264 or h264:P
ahhh I will just search normal twice or trice as usuall.
I don't know of any Private movie trackers. (I am registered on one excellent tracker but they don't have much of brrips) So I am just using public low speed ones. Its enough for me

There are two ways to interpret the color information of pixels: old "TV" and new "PC/HDTV".
Some players try to guesstimate the correct level by resolution. If the resolution is low (PAL/NTSC or even lower) it will assume "TV" levels. For higher resolutions it will assume the video comes from a BluRay and interpret the information as "PC".
When you downscale a BluRay-source video to PAL resolution the player guesses wrong and interprets the data wrong.
Solution: dump VLC since it's crap, install latest build of ffdshow and a player that uses DirectShow (I use Media Player Classic-Home Cinema), configure ffdshow to output PC levels and play with the settings for input and output levels until the colors look right. I don't know the exact setting since I never watch such rips.

I always go for BDRIPS when available as its from the original bluyray disk..BRRIPS are basically rips of a rip.
