I'll put Linux on it, use it as a book/comic book reader and netbook replacement. iPad go home.

Compared to the iPad, you can put any OS on it you want, it comes with 250gb hdd space.
Battery time is about the same as the iPad.
As you can put any OS on it you want, it's not locked down.
It comes with a clicky "full" size keyboard, for when you need to really do some work
It's 330$ with the 250gb hdd and the intel 3150 gma. iPad starts at 499 for 16gb - but you don't need anymore right?
You can replace the intel GMA 3150 with 4100GMA or nVidia ion for 3d stuff. It can go up to 10 hrs with 8 cell battery.
I'll just stick with the intel chipset as I won't be using it for games and if I do it'll be dos and 2d based games like X-Com.
Yes I will definitely play X-Com on a touch screen on the go.
Yes I can't wait to get my hands on it, sadly I have to wait for the postman to get his finger out of his ass
It's interesting to note theres also a slot for gsm card if you have mobile broadband, though I'll likely get a HTC Desire and use tethering for online access on the go. I think it will be a sweet combo.
I know I don't have to justify it, but it's always fun to make fun of Apple products and the Apple acolytes.
I've got a Desire btw, absolutely love it. The phone itself is great, but with Froyo now the few things Eclair had against it are all gone as far as I'm concerned.
While the touch reading experience was smooth and we enjoyed flicking through pages and pinching to zoom in on text, it was our experience reading the New York Times Reader while laying down that brought out the biggest issue with the screen – its viewing angles. Though the extra glossy screen contributes somewhat to the issues, we encountered major color distortion both horizontally and vertically, and at some angles we couldn't even see what was on the screen. It was especially apparent when we tried to look at an Olympic photo gallery while lying in bed – we had to adjust ourselves and the tablet quite a bit to comfortably flick through the images. Why Lenovo had to use a cheap LCD on this device is beyond us – it craps up a perfectly enjoyable experience.
Would have been an obvious buy for me but the lack of LED & IPS panel makes me consider the iPad even though its limited in some ways but hey im a fanboy what to do?
Nice! No one beats lenovo! Now if google could get Android into an actual OS for computers then it'd be <3
Erm, it can already run on netbooks and tablets, don't see why it couldn't be run on this as well. Just need someone to cook in the appropriate drivers, or Epsilon has to do that himself
Why would I want to run android? I can have a full desktop OS in a normal Linux based OS and not something that would be on a netbook, crippled.
Android is Linux afterall as it use a Linux kernel. I just don't get why I would want to cripple my interface like that. It's good for a phone where you have a pretty limited way of interacting with the machine, but on a 'real' computer? no.
