Seriously.. have you guys watched this? its great! just finished it, and jeezus... yeah i loved it. some of the logic leaps ARE a bit far fetched, but its freakin sherlock holmes so ill let him have it...
but the actors/characters are so likable, and the stories interesting, atmosphere is great... and man, this holmes is great, he really is...
and the way episode 3 ends!! cant believe its gonna be next year till i see what happens next... jeez this was a great show - glad its getting a season 2, and very glad i didnt skip it... freakin fantastic holy fucking ass-crackers
sorry if theres allready a topic for it, but i didnt see one when i searched. havent seen it? like brit shows? crime/thrillers with a bit of comedy thrown in? give it a go and get hooked as well
Yeah I posted it in that thread were someone was asking for new TV shows, but everyone seemed to ignore it, so I figured it was just me who enjoyed it :S

the BBC's Sherlock was actually pretty good, its only three parts (90 minutes a part) I thought it was going to be a pile of shite, but both the wife and I enjoyed it.
I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
I took note of it a while back, but never got around to checking it out. Now I see there's an unaired pilot in the DVD release. Should I watch it first or is it better to start with it as it was aired?
And I did just that. Watched the first ep... it's pretty good, characters are interesting and the pacing keeps the action going as well. So overall it was a good impression.
But there were a couple of things that just didn't sit right with me... The whole phone tracking via email hacking thing was just wrong. They had her phone number ffs... and they were the police. That's all you need to find the phone itself.
Minor spoilers for the first episode:
Spoiler:
And the thing about cabbies was obvious as soon as he said "who goes around unnoticed", so when they saw a cab couple of minutes later I thought that at least they won't be sitting around on that big reveal all episode. But after all the chases it turns out they were convinced it was the passenger and then Sherlock makes his "big" reveal later...
But otherwise everything seemed to hold up very well and the character interactions were fun, so it's certainly worth watching. It's just when on the whole the show seems pretty smart in terms of the deductions and mysteries, things like that throw you off a little
This info has been out for a while, but didn't see it posted. BBC has confirmed that sherlock will be back in its 90 minute format for more episodes. No ETA or Amount of episodes though, both actors (watson/holmes) will be returning.
I'm curious how they will be handling
Spoiler:
Moriarty.. In the movies, he dies in every movie...during the shows finale..will they kill him and follow books / radio?
Would also like to see some of the Radio broadcasts turned movie.. Dancing Men, Elusive Agent, Speckled Band, Discordant Bells,.. so many would make great conversions.. Although the third was a bit like the Elusive Agent on its own..
I also really enjoy that they took the slow motion concept used in the Sherlock movie and rand with it (or had the same idea), Using that .. Matrix / 300 120+ FPS Recording for smoothing down the slow motion. Sherlock (Both movie and TV) actually used it as a plot device to illustrate the speed of sherlock's reasoning. It was a brilliant use of an overused practice, making it feel brand new.
There's also alot of fun references you may hear if you know sherlock well.. Like the guy in the diner in episode one who he claims he got off for murder because he was robbing houses at the time. That is taken line for line from the sherlock movie "Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon", which is like the Sherlock OTR Dancing Men / Elusive Agent crammed into one...amazing Sherlock is so popular that everything they make past or present ties in with something else.
Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon if you want a detective fix :
Are you kidding me at the ending of the last episode!! Next season cannot come soon enough!
I just picked up this show cause I wanted to see, just a half decent tv series, and a being a big fan of Sherlock Holmes and read a lot of it I remember seeing this thread sometime ago. And finally decided to give it a try. Did not disappoint! Great frigging show!

Glad to see more people enjoying this. I for one loved it, can't wait for more. Good cast, well adapted to modern times, and I like how they actually portray Sherlock properly: a bored, drug addicted genius
Not quite as dark as in the original books perhaps, but I kinda like this more, makes it more amusing
Some parts were made a little bit too obvious and sometimes they handled the viewer as a kid with a 5 second attention span :X Besides that, a really good cast, good setting, interesting cases
