Fuck me.... lazy person as i am 
I wear contacts for over 8 years now and the last couple of years i didnt take care of them that well. Just had an appointment with the specialist and it seems my eyes are heavily damaged
The blood circulation in my eyes is fucked up it seems.... Still a chance everything gets back to normal but its about 50/50.... so fuck me

What did you do? Not removing them when sleeping and/or using them when they where too old/dirty?

Damn I'm sorry mate, I really hope that everything will go well for you..
I'm using contacts too (since 2001 if I can recall correctly) and even if I often exceed the recommended number of daily hours, I always change/clean them when I'm at home, avoiding to stress my eyes for too much time.

Yep this....
Having contacts you should swap every month... i did three months.
And i never ever took em out in between ... not even when i went to sleep.
So yeah... i pretty much did see it coming but i didnt really thought a bit further or i had that thought it wouldnt happen to me.
At the end... its my own stupid fault.

I almost never take out my contact lenses at night and I sometimes use em for multiple months, maybe I should be more carefull 
I sometimes had sticky spots on me lenses, ewww..

Absolutely. Even if some science fiction movies such as Minority Report might make you believe that in a close future the eyes implant will be a common procedure, I assure you that it won't. |

Get some fashionable glasses or whatever, use them when at home or whenever you can, and start using daily lenses for when you need them (sports, night out?).

Today i had my new appointment and it seems i'm really lucky. The veins in my eyes will stay forever but they are all empty now. In numbers it would be about a 10 percent damage but when i threat my eyes the same as before it can get really bad within a few weeks.
My eyes also look really white again so after all i'm really happy now

in some rare cases they can grow to your eye, a guy didn't try to take them of for 6 months... i mean wtf. ppl dont care about their sight no more :/

Yeah that was my problem also. When they reach your pupil you need a transplant.
What happened to the guy... did he needed a transplant ?

Try to avoid facials. That solved the problem with my exgf.
