Can someone explain the point of these? Wouldn't it be much simpler to go straight to the forum index / back to the thread? I get annoyed with these confirmation messages even on boards where they're on timed redirect, but here it's just a pointless extra click!

No, it's how server pages work. You post information to the next page. If you stay on that page and refresh, it will ask you "Do you want to repost" in a good browser or just do it anyway in a shit one, but most people just click yes. What I agree is that these pages can be changed to automatically redirect to another page once the server has the info.

Or maybe move to AJAX. Cool Face

I admit I know fuck all about forum software, but at least on recent vbulletin versions that doesn't happen.
