Personally I prefer Windows 95 with plus pack.
Why with plus pack? Because it added the one thing that still haunts humanity and will last forever: Comic Sans.

Hmm why lock the other thread with more posts and more votes? doesnt make much sense.

Major issue with x86 is that you only get 3.2GB RAM no matter how much you've stuck on the motherboard. If you never use more than 3GB at any time x86 would suffice. But from what I've seen 32-bit applications can actually run slightly faster in WoW64 (not sure why, may have something to do with 64-bit registers and extra registers). |
There are ways around that however, but you have to patch the .exe's + there's a command line switch you have to use. I don't think it works for all games or programs though. But yes, a big disadvantage for x86.

There are no ways around that. The system is just not capable of providing more address space. The EXE "patcher" leads to plethora of crashes because without support in the code itself, it can be problematic (and it is still very limited).

so you can patch an EXE for a game that bypasses the logical and mathematical limit of 2 to the power of 32?
2 to the power of 32 = 4 294 967 296 (highest number it can ever possibly count to)
even if you could, windows itself is limited by 32bit cannot even SEE the PC has more than 4 gigs total (ram and vidcard) so say you made your app want all 8 gigs..windows by the limits of 32bit itself will go "nope, the highest I can count is 4gigs that's all I see"
saying you can patch 32bit to see beyond its 2 to the power of 32 limit, is like saying you can count to 100 on your fingers, without reusing any of them...you have 10 fingers, nothing can increase that number.
its a physical limit that by nature cant be changed.

А 32-bit Windows allows allocation of maximum of 2GB per application, that is the limit one can attempt to patch.

oh yea, but wasnt disagree with anyone on that.
but just pointing out the upper limit cant be changed.
I;ve seen too many people that confuse the 2 thinking that the large address fix make it magically see 8 gigs of ram.
too many times you see peoples sigs on gaming forums
i7, ATI 5870x2 crossfire, 8 gigs of ram, windows 7 32bit.
then they argue with you that the LBA,or MBA, or whatever the hell the switch is..lets 32bit see all 8 gigs of ram AND both 1 gig cards.

Oh, I agree with you completely.
BTW, the higher tier Windows Server OSes since Server 2000 have had system-wise support for more than 4G addressing space through special segmenting. This is true for Windows Server 2008 (up to R2, which is the equivalent of W7, which comes only in 64-bit variants). So if someone is thick enough, he could use that.
But per-applications limits are still in place, and there is very little one can do about these.

In fact it helps some games to crash less, Morrowind runs great with it for example. I'm sure there are limitations with it ofcourse.

Pentium (1) and newer processors support 36-bit adressing, however Microsoft limits support for that only to it's server OSes.
edit: Pentium Pro was the first, my mistake

Ok, then remove the inverted comparative signs or what to call them.
