That vehicle uses normal gasoline that you use in your car, you have already around 1 billion of those burning fuel everyday.

Let's use oil while it lasts before we have to switch to muscle power again Laughing

Seems it's also just received legal approval too, going on sale in 2011 for the - surprisingly yummy - price of $148k. It's about time this came to fruition, I was following development of the Moller Skycar for ages, but nothing ever came of it except a tethered "hover" flight test. Meh.

There's the other "contender" - which has been in development for forty years (in various incarnations, obviously) and is STILL nowhere near legal production. Ah well.

I seriously dont see flying cars anytime in the future, general public is just too stupid.

a car now, you run out of gas, don't do maintenance, etc...worst that happens usually is your on the side of the road.
how many cars you see on the side of the road because of problems like that?

now imagine these same people with this vehicle...crashing into houses, yards, people who knows what..because they forgot to see if they had gas, change the oil, vehicle overheats because they didn't check the water etc.

or better yet, people getting into accidents because they are reading the paper, texting, changing the radio station..etc.

now you got 2 PLANES hurling towards the ground over neighborhoods.

I believe you require a flight license to be allowed to fly on one of these.

stupid or not the stupid wont be able to fly it due to needing the certification and medical checks to keep it valid every so often Very Happy and most of those wont bother after the first passing of the licence.

and to be quite honest, there are plenty of unstable pilots about lol, or ones that go funky mid flight and decide to kill 140 passengers etc... its all relative...

id be more worried about drink drivers still..

You'll still need a sports pilot license since it IS a plane Razz

It can be drove by anyone with a simple car license while in car mode.

In plane mode a flight license is required.

This is ridiculous! It's just a light aircraft with retractable wings taxiing around when it is in car mode. Not a flying car people! Good luck trying to take off with this from a road!
