Quote:
Actor Steve Carell has confirmed he will leave the US version of The Office at the end of its 2010-2011 season.

"Yes, it will be my last," he told Us magazine at the Los Angeles premiere of his new animated film Despicable Me.

"It's the last on my contract, and I want to honour my contract," the 47-year-old is quoted as saying.

Carell plays egotistical office manager Michael Scott in the US sitcom, based on the BBC original created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

The NBC network has yet to comment on his departure but is reportedly considering whether to continue the show without him.

Heard about this yesterday, can't say I'm really surprised though, it was bound to happen eventually.

I'm actually more surprised that he stayed on for as long as he did with all the other movie shit he has going on.

Well, without Steve the office is pretty much over with.

There's a lot of interesting characters but it has always been Michael's office so it will probably end with him. And now that he's decided to leave they'll probably write some old/new love interest for him in this season. It will probably end with him getting married. Although it would be awesome to see Dwight or even Creed made manager. Very Happy

I don't find Carell any funny either. He belongs to that type of "comedians" (like Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, etc) that don't amuse me at all. Razz Probably gonna get a lot of flack about this, but what can I do? Sad

Well, it requires intelligence from the viewer, as opposed to cheap vulgar humor. Wink
