I got a Falcon 360 and a year and a bit ago it got the E73 error, I got it fixed at the local game shop and all was fine for a year, then a month ago I got E74, again I got it repaired, now tonight I get E74 again ....... Is it worth me paying 1,200b to get it fixed again or should I jus splash out the 9,000b to buy a Jasper console .... If it's failed 3 times with 2 different codes isn't it just gonna be s hort fix everytime now, and it's just better for me to buy a new one !?!

i had the E74 error did the towel trick with it,works for a little while, but then i took it apart and removed the heatsink over the the gpu(the one under the dvd drive). cleaned all the old stuff off and replaced with new thermal heatsink paste. havent seen the error since!!!
p.s. and if you still have original x-clamp, bend arms on it to make it tighter. before you replace it back on.

I've sent mine to the repair centre when I got the E74. They sent me a refurbished 360 back, free of charge.
Not that I needed it anymore... I already got a new one in the meantime

To answer the OP, unless it is reballed with a good quality leaded solder, the erros can always return. Its due to the cheap lead-free solder MS used afaik. SO if going for repair, make sure thye are reballing it, not just reflowing with a heatgun which any idiot can do.

Nope, it's absolutely not worth having it repaired again. Check my horror story here, about my old 360 with the E74 error;

Unless you send it to MS, you're not going to get a proper repair and it WILL keep dying, sooner or later. Don't waste the money mate... replace the machine. I binned my Falcon after three failed repairs and purchased a Jasper, which has been - touch wood - good as gold.
