Drummers usually keep spare sticks were they can easily be picked up within a second or two, so no need to stop playing.

Many years ago I took the ferry (Danish shipping company) from Newcastle to IJmuiden.
I was enjoying my xth beer in a pub on that ship and then some guy started to sing and play on a piano.
He played the biggest crap imaginable, after a couple of songs he asked the audience if they would like to hear another song.
Me with a loud enough voice: "Oh no, please stop it, it's unbearable."
I have never seen such a shocked face, lol.
We did that when a local band was playing on the stage in our park...they were really into their music and the guitarplayer yelled to the audience "ANYONE WANNA HEAR ENTER THE SANDMAN!?" so me and my brother yelled as loud as we could "NO!"...his response? "Well fuck you then!" and he dropped his instrument and left the scene
