Yup, like that spaceship in Alien that they spent 5 months building on and it's visible for like 10 seconds Laughing

Nothing wrong with cgi, its the over reliance on it that bothers me.

I will also say that sometimes when they cant really afford it, but for some reason use cgi rather than visual / miniatures effects it bugs me, it looks shit (again some of the time) and could work and look better using other methods.

Thats what I meant

I don't mind cgi but they should go back more to models and stuff (like Alien and Terminator etc) instead of doing everything with cgi

I guess it boils down to what gives the best results with the given budget.
I remember that scene in The Matrix Revolutions where lotsa guys in mechas are firing on the sentinels rushing into the human safe-heaven.
That was so stunning but not all series/movies have that budget.

Exactly.

If the directors/producers don't have the money to make the CGI top notch, they should go with a lil bit of cgi and a lot of model.

Take the Scorpion King CGI character in The Mummy Returns...otherwise decent CGI for the time but that one character was just so fucking bad it ruined the movie.

Same goes for The Hulk movie (the one with Eric Bana or whatever his name is, not Ed Norton).

I dont think CGI ruined the Ang Lee Hulk movie...it was just overall boring, a little too much origin and too much "my face exprezzioNZZ"

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

Laughing

I thought it looked cheesy. It was on the other week on the Space Channel...so cheesy compared to the Ed Norton remake.
