This started like 10+ years ago when the internetz was already a vast medium.
I worked as a sysadmin and sometimes out of irritation or boredom I started browsing the internetz just by guessing domain names or deliberately misspelling.
I did that mostly at night when none was around to see how busy I was earning my money
And if I was asked why I needed to work at night I came up with (quite often) a valid excuse about having to do some maintenance.
Yep I am afraid I really showed some signs of the BOFH, google that if unknown
Back then these were funny:
whitehouse.com or .org - porn sites
hell.com - weird stuff, can't remember well
ihatebill.com - allowed you to leave a hateful remark about any Bill you knew
A typo-site I can remember:
amazom.com - book store site that lived by the grace of mistyping, it redirects now
Old habits die hard so today I tried: yourtube.com
Ehm right an unofficial site for the London Underground
