now that's a great trailer
looks great, despite the premise which would normally be a cheap crap gore-film
with proper budget and taken seriously any silly idea can turn out awesome

Looks awesome! You could imagine it as a continuation of Blade 1 if frost had succeeded with his plan to turn almost every human into a vampire. Very Happy

Looks good, but Sam Neill... Sad Can't stand him, his acting is really really fake in almost anything he does (inc. this trailer).

Are you kidding? Sam Neill is fucking badass! Seems excellent for this kind of role to me.

Oh, and also noticed Willem Dafoe and Ethan Hawke in the trailer. Good cast at least, but story/dialogue seems like it will be on the short end - even though the plot seems somewhat interesting.

In other words, a heavy action vampire movie. It could be total crap, or it could be awesome. But for me, I need more than just action to satisfy my movie cravings.

No not kidding, his acting, to me, always looks very fake, very boring, akin to the usual Hallmark productions boredom.

Hawke and Dafoe are great, of course. In fact I was thinking "Oh no, a Hallmark vampires production" but then I saw Hawke and Dafoe in there, so it could be good. Smile

Isn't that the whole point? He always plays academic/bureaucratic characters, people who tend to be what could be defined as a 'boring' individual. Just because he excels at playing a particular type of character, does not make him a bad actor.

No no no, I didn't mean his roles were boring, but his acting itself (style, methods, etc.). I will almost never comment on a movie or a character being boring, because this comes down to personal taste (in fact, I enjoy, if not prefer, what people consider "boring" films). Smile

So saying that Sam Neil's acting is boring doesn't come down to personal taste then?

I'm sorry Leo but I think you're way off the mark with this, he's one of the most respected actors in the business, he must have some charisma if he has achieved such status.

sam neill is cool as shit.
if you like his style, watch Until the End of the World, if you haven't already. get the director's cut, btw. it's a 4.5 hours long trip and it's prolly best to watch it at night, alone. it's one of the most moody and atmospheric movies i've seen.

Of course it is down to personal taste and opinion. (My sig is there for a reason Razz) I was just saying I don't like the actor himself, not his roles. To me he is comparable to Christian Slater and the likes. Smile
