I had to drop my kids off at school this morning, and on my way in I pulled into a parking spot in the car park across the street. I pulled in beside another car which hadn't seen me and she started reversing out still thinking that the space next to her was empty. She turned out too sharply and smashed in my rear right door, wheel arch, wheel and rear bumper. Even though I was all the way in the parking spot and standing still, this idiot is still adamant that it's my fault and that I should have seen her reversing.
No dumbass...you should have seen me coming in to park before blindly reversing out of the parking bay....sheesh.
Anyway, she's lied on the accident report and there's nothing that I can do about that but luckily for me I don't think that it would have been possible for the damage to the 2 cars to have occured if she hadn't fucked up so I should be fine anbd her insurance will surely have to cover the cost of the repair.
But really...WTF is wrong with some people? I can't imagine ever having the front to lie blatantly like that in that situation.
Fortunately, I've only been in one accident like that (some of you might remember my WRX), but atleast she never even hinted that it was somehow my fault. Feel sorry for ya though, my friend once got hit by some idiot who didn't know how to drive properly, and he lied his ass off for the insurance companies. lol, a few years back I was leaving for uni very early in the morning and didn't look behind me before I backed up ... slammed into the car of the girl living in the apt. above me
I was actually parked in the driveway sideways to her car, so no damage to my back bumper (it was a shtibox anyways), but I caved in her passenger side door pretty good. at least her parents were nice enough to just claim it on their own insurance and let me off the hook
once I went into the back of someone at a junction, she started forward then stopped!
So she comes over starts ranting saying 'you stay there, I know your sort'.

Anyways, I say, oh god I'm really sorry, can we exchange details my insurer will pay.
So she backs off, then gets really apologetic. Ah well.
Second situation, had a nice car, which got stoved into the left side door. Guy just reverses, and drives off. Fortunately an off duty police officer saw everything, guy went to court, and I had a no fault claim. Insurer was a complete c*nt, so had to take pictures of the junction, despite the police officers statement. That was the AA by the way. Terrible company.
I always walk my son to school, which has traffic backing right up to the school gate. Christ it's dangerous, police are always banging onto parents about not parking up to a hundred metres. Ignorant twats still do it though. God I could take a gun to the lot of them.
Well I didn't actually tell the whole story. It was a lot more dramatic than I described in my first post. My kids school is right across from a police station, so we eventually went in there to see if they could come out and look at the damage and the position of the 2 cars. The refused.
When we got around to filling out the document, I realised that I didn't have my wallet or my insirance papers so she followed me down the road to my front door and I filled out the form in my house. By the time I got back out to her, her husband had appeared from fucking nowhere and I was sure that he was going to start something. He didn't. She still argued that it wasn't her fault and I just said that we will let the insarance companies battle it out.
The last thing, this idiot of a woman was dropping her small child off at nursery school also when it happened, so I'm going to be seeing a lot more of her in the future when my son moves into the same class as her child next month.
i never drive forward into a space parking or even at home here i reverse in, father taught me that, as at least you can always see properly then when your due to leave.. He said only wally's reverse out of places, and if its cause they cant reverse properly to park rear inwards in the first place they shouldnt have a fucking drivers ticket..

why the fuck is it a waste of time? i can reverse park into a narrow space like a shopping malls multistory spot just as fast as driving in forward, albeit havint to stop first before reversing but thats it..
Your assumptions that much better chance of getting hit in the front as ur driving out is beyond ludicrous and pretty fucking thick to say the least.. Your eyes perephiral vision when leaving the spot forward is a one hell of alot better than looking over ones shoulder trying to reverse out.. Not to mention less movement of head checking and having the other cars either side of u more in your way..

When you drive out of a house that backs onto a main busy road you see dicks all the time reversing into the road and relying on stupid mirrors put up over the other side of theyre drive.. Why not just drive the fuck out forward so u only expose a part of your cars bonnet while being able to see up and down the road clearly?

There's nothing wrong with parking either forward or reversing in. I do both depending on how I'm feeling but it's not something that I even think about. The only thing is that if you park in forward you need to make sure that you have enough room when turning out of the bay, which this idiot didn't do...and that's my fault apparently.

She's just doing what most people in car accidents do and that is disclaim any responsibility. Some insurance companies even advice you in their brochures to never admit any responsibility and just draw an accurate diagram of what happened.
But you must admit that you did pull-off a bit of a ninja-park.

we're at the gym just now and we go downstairs. one of the racks has an old man sitting by it on the leg press machine beside it and he's talking on his cell phone. nevermind that he either a) shouldn't have had his phone there or b) could've went outside. we go over to this rack and start setting it up. i notice he keeps looking at us. you know the look if you go the gym that says "i was gonna use that even though i'm sitting here doign something fucking stupid and i have no right to expect that of you". we continue setting it up and he finishes his call. he hops on the other side of the rack just basically to get in our way. he's got his bag and all his shit crammed right by it where he can't even use it. you could tell he was doing it to be a dick. i'm pretty passive about trivial shit like that so i say nothing. my workout partner turns and looks at me and rolls his eyes. at that moment old bastard's beeper goes off so my buddy gets off the rack and comes and stands beside me. we dont' say shit although we could. we could easily have gotten loud and aint much he could do about it, we're both a good size. especially considering that this guy was in his mid 50's and pretty much out of shape
so he starts digging through his bag and then his cell starts ringing again. at this point my buddy just says fuck it, goes over and grabs the extension we put on our side of this rack and he starts. the old man looks at his phone, turns and mumbles some shit. then he kinda throws a mini-hissy and says "fuck it!" and grabs his shit and does what he should've done all along and gets the fuck out of our way. as he walks off he turns and says "you know you guys could've asked if i was using that!" we ignored him although i wanted to go the fuck off. bottom line is he was so fucking stupid that the old thing about arguing on the 'net popped into my head and figured different situation but same scenario.

I didn't pull off a ninja park at all. I didn't know that there was even anyone in that car that hit me nevermind know that it was just about to pull out and smash into me. And I was all the way in the parking spot when the accident occured, but most importantly, I had the fucking right of way. When you are exiting a parking bay you need to wait until it's safe to do so. You need to wait until there are no cars behind you, or moving in to your left or right of you. You come last in terms of priority. She failed. End of story.
