Was just watching the news and after some time I was like... hmm, that guy really looks familiar, and then I saw his name. Oh well, its his life choice.
But, would never thought that guy would convert to Islam. Intelligent guy... not very social and guess he was kinda strange, but still :/ He even changed his name from Per Bartho Hansen (common Norwegian name) to Per Yousef Assidiq O.o
But he more or less seems to be the same person tho, still working with IT at least Wink

I don't like any form of institutionalization, religion and political parties being excellent examples.

Poor misguided people.

Afaik he didn't have any Muslim friends... afaik he didn't have any friends at all :/
Could be the reason. Not that I could see any comfort in converting to Islam. But as I said... he was STRANGE

What's with the beard? grinhurt (I'm jealous too Sad )

OT: Well maybe he wanted to feel like a part of something :\
True he could have chosen something less... religious... but you can never say what's going on in someone's life...
Let's just hope he doesn't go ape-shit and strap on a bomb...

I wouldn't be too surprised if they didn't let you convert if you couldn't grow a beard. I mean most muslim guys (who are stricter/more orthodox in their belief) have beard O.o

Yeah. Anyway, the reason why he was interviewed was because some Muslim fuck face thought it was ok to stone gay people to death. Police now see him as a terrorist threat and what not. If he tries to leave Norway (think he wants to finish Koran studies in KSA or something) he will be reported.

Anyway, my old classmate just confronted Norwegian newspaper www.db.no about the caricature pics of Muhammed. Same shit as in Denmark. So he is pretty harmless compared to the other fucker. Dunno if they know each other.

Well, aren't the major religions all about peace?
Well except christianity I guess because I seem to remember a line from the bible where Jesus said something along the lines of "if you don't have sword, sell your shirt and buy a sword"
Wtf Jesus? What up man? Sheds a whole new light on wwjd Laughing

But it doesn't say "slay them all, then chop them to bits, burn those bits and feed them to goats which in turn shall be sacrificed to the almighty" ^^
It says they are the chosen and the rest gets what they deserve anyway.
My beliefe, that no major religion propagates violence against anyone stands it's just dumbasses that have a very strange and one sided interpretation of their religion.

Any one of the major three religions has verses in its scripture that calls for violence, and religious scripture is meant to be taken word for word literally. Now, you have the "oh it's more of a guide, not meant to be taken so srs" people, which are a funny bunch, because if you don't take it literally and think it is full of metaphors of life, why do you believe in some silly deity that has created a huge, endless world, yet sits somewhere and listens to prayers of silly, pesky humans and does miracles for them. Laughing
What a load of bullshit. Laughing

But it is my opinion that in this day and age, no matter how bad all religions are, Islam is indeed the worst and most violent one, and no matter how much the "guide" people above try to convince us, the facts of the matter are on my side.

People say scriptures should be seen as guides rather than word for word because you can't apply a 1400 (or whenever the Qur'an was written) or even older piece of written word to use in this day and age. It's like with a famous german philosopher. Schopenhauer. He hade some nice ideas but he was a mysogenistic son of a bitch and used to put that into almost all of his works.
So just because some of the stuff he wrote was good are we supposed to oppress and hate women?
Same deal, imo.
And I think Islam is the "worst" religion out there because it's the youngest of the major ones.
It's barely 1400 years old by now, wait another 600 and see how different it is with 2000 years of age compared to Judaism or Christianity at that age (yes, I'm being very unprecise with the ages etc. but I'm just trying to make a point, so sue me).

Do as I do, everytime I come upon a religious person, I first try to call them to reason, if it fails, I ignore them for the rest of my life and lose all notion of respect for that particular person, apply this to everyone you know Smile

Nah, I prefer my way (btw. "back in the" (how stupid does that sound anyway?) I used to do the same). If they don't force their beliefs on my and try to convert me or change me in some way let them belief what they want. Why should I care? If they need to belief in something to make sense of the world let them. Just because I think the world is going down the drain a little more everyday doesn't mean they have to, right?

Note to self: Stop listening to Ludacris - Growing Pains, that song makes you babble like you're trying to be all philosophical and shit :/

I should advise that my actions towards people who listen to hip hop are very similar to my actions towards religious people.

Mainly because hip hop is NOT music and because only dumb people follow it! Wink

Well I could argue that your stance toward people who listen to hip hop and people who belief in religions aren't any better than that of fundamentists who belief everybody who doesn't follow their way should be cleansed (interpret that word as you will) Wink
But I'm not doing that because in parts you are right. Most modern "hip hop" or "rap" as you will is useless bullshit. I don't fucking care if they bang a dozen hoes and do shitloads of coke a night.
The kind of hip hop I normally listen to (with a couple of exceptions) is mostly late 80's, early 90's (A Tribe Called Quest and that kinda stuff, basically conscious rap).
Btw. rap is kinda music. It's more like poetry combined with music (or that's what it should be).
Did I mention I'm a big fan of poetry slams as well Wink

And it's not as if hip hop is the only stuff I listen to. I have a very diversified taste of music and there are only a couple of genres I avoid.

which 3 major religions are you referring to ? Cause judaism isnt a major religion .. at all ...

christianity and islam are biggest with something bet 1 and 2 billion each, next is probably buddhism/hindusim

Judaism is somewhere last with around 14 million world wide.
