Quote:

Starz’s Flesh And Bone follows a young dancer with a distinctly troubled past as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York. The eight-part limited series will make its debut pirouette November 8 on the network with an episode helmed by Animal Kingdom director David Michôd.

Created and executive produced by Moira Walley-Beckett (Breaking Bad) and executive produced by Lawrence Bender, Kevin Brown and John Melfi, the series is described as a dark, gritty and complex exploration of New York City through the eyes of Claire (Black Swan‘s Sarah Hay). The emotionally wounded but transcendent ballerina navigates the dysfunction and glamour of the ballet world amid her own self-destructive tendencies and vaulting ambitions. Ben Daniels (House Of Cards) plays the company’s mercurial Artistic Director.

I'm not a fan of ballet, but I totally liked Black Swan and, well, it's STARZ Razz However,

After viewing the series Starz executives decided to make it a limited series and not ongoing

They're obviously just trying to fill a gap in the oversaturated episodic TV drama market. Im sure the popularity of Black Swan has something to do with that.

I've finished it today and it's better than I expected tbh... I think it's a good tv series despite some obvious flaws as in, for instance, the lead actress (and most of the cast) is actually not an actress, she is a dancer and it really shows. It's pretty dark sometimes, which I liked a lot and I was kinda surprised to find out that Claire's relationship with her brother was more complex than I had thought at first..

Not everything is made clear and some things are left for interpretation which I liked too.

The ending is nice although some things indicate they had a second season in mind
 Spoiler:

. Afaik they decided not to make it coz the series cost too much. I'm not a ballet expert so I can't say whether it's authentic or anything. I don't like ballet per se but I like seeing what happens behind the scenes

The opening credits are beautifully done.. Cool Oh, and another thing... Sarah Hay's breasts are divine Me Gusta
