Ok. Me and a friend have decided to do some hobby programing in making games.
But.. We have NO clue where to start and what program to use.
He have downloaded blender and started to learning that, he also have a friend helping him with that.
But what else do we need?
All help would be reallt appreciated.
One word: XNA. It is basically a simplified DirectX with a lot of facilities to help with content loading and game management.
There are endless tutorials and books on the subject, and it is quite easy to take that code from XNA to DirectX with C# (SlimDX) or even better, proper DirectX with C++.
This or if you want it more multi platform check the Unity Engine at http://unity3d.com/
A7 Game Studio looks interesting too. http://www.3dgamestudio.com/ . Its far beyond being a cheap game maker. Let us know what you finally used...
Well i downloaded XNA but i need Visual C# 2008 Express Edition. So im downloading that right now. Gonna take a look on the others to. But not tonight, cus now it sleep time. ZzzZzz
