I am wondering about a supposedly XBOX patch limit that EA are saying exists.
They are saying that there is some limit on the cumulative size of patches on the XBOX and that's why they can't release more patches for Fifa 10.
But I have have SUCH a hard time believing that. Seriously, they have fixed maybe 10 bugs all in all. In other words: NOTHING.
When searching the net, I only find a few links regarding such a limit. And they are all about waaay larger content that can't be released for the XBOX because of some size limit.
But EA have released TWO patches of about 32 Mb each. And since they probably modify a lot of the same files, I doubt the overall cumulative size is much more than 40 Mb tops.
Any of you know anything about this XBOX patch limit? And know where one can read about it?
Because I seriously feel EA are screwing with their customers here.
When one sees the new "features" for World Cup 2010 they should just have been fixes in a patch for Fifa 10!

Hm, what is that?
The updates downloaded to Fifa 10 were 2 * 32 Mb as I wrote...

Yep EA seem to being making every excuse they can with FIFA 10. The things they claim they cant fix with a patch due are: Goalkeepers, Fullbacks (playing everyone onside. The other stuff such as weather and the master league problems they sa they cannot fix due to them allready being at the patch size limit set by microsoft..Why they cant fix the PS3 version then is an unknown..However all the gamplay issues will be sorted for the WC game...very suspicious if you ask me...I'll still buy it though as FIFA is one of the few games I play religiously

I am probably also buying it but, damn, I think EA is a shitty company. I would sooo wish it was possible to pirate Fifa. If anyone deserves to have their games pirated it is EA.
But no one know anything about this supposed limit? I would love to post some stuff contradicting it on their forum...

There is a size limit for patches. They have to make sure console kiddies playing on dial-up can download them.

to answer original poster yes, xbox 360 does have size limit for title updates. the limit is 4 megabytes. it's been confirmed by Epic games and other developers. anything above that size must come in a form of a DLC.

Are you sure this is right as the first FIFA 10 patch was approx 32 meg. Reading over at the FIFA forums the orginal argument from the customers e.g me and you was that MW2 has had around 8 updates. However EA admin response was along the lines of yes they have had more patches but some of them very small and MS has a total limit not a limit of each patch. Im not sure what it is but it must be greater than 4 meg. FIFA has had 2 which will be around 60 meg and they cant release anymore according to EA which suggests thats around the maximum total patch size.

But they *were* 32 Mb updates. That's what I have downloaded? Although I am on PS3. But as far as I have heard they have about the same size on Xbox? Could be wrong, though.
Anyway I am puzzled that this is such a huge problem for Fifa that they almost can't fix anything when not many other games seem to be having the problem.

Dial up would be hilarious, i remember playing rogue spear on the PC, talk about lag and easy kills....
