What an idiot, especially when he relies so much on fans shelling cash to indulge his overpriced projects.

Of course I respect that actors/directors/whomever need their privacy, but ffs... the fan asked, nicely, for James to sign his Avatar poster - and gets shot down in response. Then to be spoken to like that? That's lame.
Hell, I loved it when the fan says "Is that how you treat someone who pays money to see your movie? I pay fifteen dollars, what I make in an hour at work, to go see your movie and I'M the asshole?"
=Edit=
Oh. I just saw Newty's reply. Dayum. In that case, the "fan" can go fuck himself
First, this video proves nothing. You cant hear what was being exchanged in the beginning so no conclusions can be made. It appears this guy asked for an autograph, cameron said no, but this guy kept asking. A normal fan would just walk away, but not this clown. When he starts babbling about his $15 job and how bad the movie's plot is, thats when I think the fan is just out to start trouble.
Cameron should have just ignored this clown, and also had more body guards. But whatever. Noting to make of this.,
He started saying that after all the insults that idiot threw at him. The fan sounded very polite actually. Doesn't matter what his mood was at the time, or whatever, ultimately he depends on the fans, and if he treats people like that, then fuck him and his movies, he is not worthy of people's money.
Stop it Sabin, fanbois don't have to provide proof. The fan was very polite, while that idiot was swearing his mouth off. Even if at some point the fan became more aggressive, it was because of Cameron's childish behavior.
Yeah, at the end. Thanks; I didn't catch that before ---- BUT! my original point still stands; it wouldn't have hurt him to sign the bloody poster. He spent more time there arguing with the fan than it would have taken to just simply pick up the pen and sign his autograph.
*shrugs* Directors, writers, stars... they're all the same. They want your money but aren't willing to do a damned thing else.

Agree with the first part but these things always start out with something so trivial. I'm sure Cameron would admit (not publicly though) that it would have been better if he had just signed the damn thing.
Not sure about the second part though. Artists may want and get our money but they get it for their performances or creations. Doesn't make them indebted to us or allow us to be massive pains in their asses.
Yes, because asking for someone's autograph in admiration is so much to ask from the artist (and he obviously wants us to think he's an artist), and is such a big pain in the ass.
If you can't take the whole package, don't get in the game at all.
Well, that'd be correct except that "fan" didn't ask it in admiration.
I don't believe Cameron knew who the "fan" was, nor do I believe he would have acted differently if it was someone else. He just acted like a spoiled prick.

The key word there is asking and not expecting or demanding. And when you ask someone for something the person has a right to say no. And once more, you paid money and you got to watch a movie made by someone and that's the end of that transaction. It doesn't entitle you to membership of some previleged club.

Movies are pretty rare in 3d tho
But I doubt he actually has anything to do with that part :/
