decent nzb indexing sites let you know if it's passworded or even what the password is.
but about the german releases, yeah it's fucking annoying because there are so damn many of them (especially x264) and fucking germans insist on dubbing everything. Next most annoying is how NL people insist on hardcoding their subs onto releases.
I fucking raged about this earlier today, but I finally found a non-password'd post in the end!
It's a rather annoying routine to check the first finished .rar everytime you start a download on something!
And for the German/NL releases... yeah, pretty fucking annoying when you try to find a old movie or tv-show and the only post is some german dubbed fucking shit release! Totally useless.

There are some passworded releases without any info, but most german and hardcoded releases have nfo's or tags in the filename. It's a strain on the servers I guess, but I don't see it as a problem. Usenet isn't USA or English exclusive.

yeah, i know. That is one of the reasons why i threw out my tv ages ago and only watch movies in the cinema when they are not dubbed. Or use the "pirate channel" on the intarwebs

the problem is the dubbing is terrible (like any dubbing) regardless of language.
when I watch a german speaking movie I don't expect it to be dubbed in english
Actually from a relatively objective perspective Germany has a really elaborate culture of dubbing. So most stuff from mid 90's and later is dubbed pretty well but then again, every once in a while comes something around that sounds like it's some porn dubbed by russians :/

there is no way some random asshole in a studio can replicate the emotions conveyed in an actor's voice. dubbing = heresy.
Well that is true for the dubbing in most languages but like I said German dubbing is a lot more elaborate and since most people doing the dubs are (quite good) actors themselves they don't do that bad a job. Don't get me wrong most of the time I prefer the original voices but I find myself watching a movie in German TV every once in a while.
Buuut, I will not be able to convice you because the only way to do that would make you watch a movie that is dubbed in German which you probably woulnd't understand so I'll just stop trying to convince you
Germans dub softcore pornos, and they even dub the moaning. Used to laugh my ass off when watching these on RTL. But to be honest, I've heard Russian softcore dubs as well (again, the whole shebang; "oah oah oah").

Actually the german dubbing of big budget movies is pretty good! But yeah, most of the time the original voices sound a lot better Except the simpsons. GOD the german dubbed version is SO MUCH BETTER!
Dubbing is always inferior to the original voices, no matter what the production values.
The only good thing about it is that kids who can't read yet can watch foreign cartoons (tho at least here everything but the Disney/Pixar etc dubs suck ass ).

It's what happens when people start discussing sources openly. It's only going to get worse from here on out, sadly. I don't recall this being a problem until about a year ago. I guess everything has its lifespan.

AAHHH!!! My FUCKING GOD this is so annying! Dutch this and motherfucking dutch that - include srt's instead, assholes And after I had to go through three pages or so of fucking dubbed German x264 releases, I could thankfully sort them out via the Newzbin preferences.
Oh, and I've seen dubbed TV and movies, French and German. And it's so awful, so so awful. How you could prefer that to the original will always be beyond me.

given most of the releases that are passworded want you to fill out some damn survey/goto website or some bullshit, it's basically spam to make them money and has nothing to do with keeping shit incognito.
You update whenever you want and you have all releases you need.
Since a little while its not possible to get direct NZB from this program because of the Copyright protector BREIN from the Netherlands. Off course there are various patches available to make the button reappear.
